it's getting to be where a junkyard is like Fort Knox. You'd be surprised what they will do to steal that copper. But getting back to the topic. Not sure you can analyze copper supply and demand without also taking into consideration recycling. And man that is hard to read.
Dec futures seems to be stuck in the 3.42 to 3.48 range now. I'm amazed it hasn't broken down even more.....yet.
well, everything is moving, if you have the guts to get really tight It takes a hellofalot more courage to trade for a penny than it does for a dollar.
Boy, ain't THAT the truth. When I was daytrading with a prop firm in 2004, it was chop-city...the markets were just churning and churning. No trends ! Copper has made a 40 cent move down recently and I think we are going to see it higher before it goes lower. Just a hunch however.
Currency effects should be minor in Copper IMHO. Today, the USD was down, and copper up a bit as a result...but that reversed quickly.
Was off 3 cents to 3.43 this morning ! talk about cliff....the 3.40 cliff is looming large now. Equities subsequently recovered and so did copper....and the other metals. Short copper is a bet against China, US housing market, and to a lesser degree the economies of the world.
will you finally just put something on and take your loss if you are wrong? You aint gonna make any money just talking about it. We are all short something whether we want to be or not. If it was me, I would just get long, with as much time as you have spent analyzing it, I figure that's worth a hard money stop 4% of my account balance. and after I put it on, I would just ignore it until I got stopped out and start a new thread like "What about Rice?"
