I believe that the person The American people vote for to be their President should be their President.

The majority of farm subsidies in the U.S. go to corporate farm offices located in major cities. A good portion of this is being paid to leave fields fallow with no crops. Most small family farms receive no farm subsidies or very little.

Just take a look at the amount in farm subsidies being paid to wealthy people who don't farm...

    History is not complicated

“The right of suffrage was much more diffusive [i.e., extensive] in the Northern than the Southern States; and the latter could have no influence in the election on the score of Negroes.”

This is why the electoral college exists and it still exists to protect pockets of dumb racists spread out over a lot of square miles.

Well the founding fathers believe in the electoral college system.

If you don't like it then move to some other democratic country that support the direct popular vote for their president.

The founding fathers also believed in slavery (Many current confederate states residents still do ).Takes time but I will stay and help right their wrongs.

Location of offices doesn't designate who the money actually flows to.

Are you telling me that Republicans don't cut these huge subsidies because they are going to liberals in the cities?

Actually they believed that a system other than the electoral college won't be acceptable to slave holding southern states, the real tyranny is that someone voting in a red state has far more power politically than someone in a blue state.

We have already established that Tony and you believe the residents of a small number of counties accounting for a few square miles of the U.S. and holding most of the wealth should dictate to other residents of the U.S. who should be President and what they should believe.

In fact you have regularly pushed the idea that the people who are not residents of these cities are inferior and not smart --- therefore whatever they believe is wrong & the enlightened people living in under .03% of the U.S. land-mass should tell them how to live.

Yeah, we get it -- the above is the liberal fantasy world which you have desired to bring about for a long time.

But here is a hint, it is not going to happen.

We have already established that you believe that residents of small number of counties accounting for a few square miles and holding little wealth should choose the President and what the majority should believe.

In fact I have regularly pushed the idea that the people who are residents of these places tend to be bigoted, racist, less educated and pay less in taxes - but you believe that they still should be able to choose President's to govern over the majority who pay for the upkeep of the country.

The problem will solve itself as the demographics change.

As a way of tempering the masses from oppressing the minority viewpoints.

In this election it worked too well - the racist minority is now oppressing the majority and has co-opted your political party.
