Bush...

  1. I don't need your games nor hints. It is a fact the past 2 term republican adminsitrations (assumption Bush serves 2 terms) engineered huge deficit spending and very unbalanced budgets.

    Famous liberals/socialists:

Jesus Christ (his heart bled for the poor and oppressed)
Robin Hood (Robbed from the rich to give to the poor)
    Gandhi

    Famous powerful capitalists:

    Julius Caesar
    Genghis Khan
The Sheriff of Nottingham and Prince John

Very obscure and extremely confused capitalists:

    marketsurfer

Mmmmmm well, what can you say to someone who is irrational...

  3. Ad hominem, invalid and useless.

    Can't argue properly?

    Then just employ Hannityisms.

    Typical.

Look its obvious you know nothing about campaign tactics which is okay. I’m not
proclaiming the virtues of a platform so much a pointing out that Bush isn’t the dummy
the left would like everyone to believe. It is the tactics he employed that was so
remarkable. Like it or not, my description of Democrats and their tactics is right on the
    mark.

As for JC bleeding for the poor and oppressed, give me a break. Go read your bible.
Your remark is so stupid its almost unworthy of comment. Robin Hood was certainly a
good guy, he gave the tax money back to those who had paid it.

As for homeland security. The Patriot Act stinks.

The budget is engineered by Congress not the White House. I give the House GOP and Bill Clinton high marks for passing/not vetoing meaningful budget reforms. This GOP led circus is doing what's good for politics, bad for policy. The old axiom is that if you piss off 20% of the left and 20% of the right, you'll own that winnable 60% in the middle. This President as well as Clinton are adept at that.

The difference being the "new guard" in the GOP i.e. Gingrich, Watts etal are gone. Congress has clearly shifted to a tad left of center and Bush just doesn't relish the fight. I suppose he feels it's factious to ask for money in Iraq and try to make serious domestic cuts. The choice between butter or guns is age old as is the desire to have your cake and eat it too.

  6. You idiot,

    1) The bad econ was inherited. Look at a chart! The over capacity was very obvious.

    2) We need to spend after 9/11. What would you do?

    Geez,

I'm not even Republican anymore, but obvious idiotic claims just chap me seriously.

  7. Calling me an idiot reveals your tendency toward Hannityism, if not a lack of class.

    Typical.

  8. The only thing that is "obvious" is your self appointed sense of expertise without offer of proof.

If you can do nothing but call other people's statements "stupid" it indicates your own lack of command of language.

He would in no way be defined by earthly terms like liberal and conservative. Plus, many things the liberals espouse He is vehemently against.

  10. Comparison of today's society versus the society of 2000+ years ago requires some thought process.

So should our definitions of socialism and capitalism be applied without context of the society of Jesus?

Since we don't have the same political and religious structures today that existed then how would the words "capitalist" and "socialist" be correctly applied to that time frame?

Did Jesus suggest that people not pay their taxes to Caesar?

No, he suggested rendering unto Caesar what is Caesar. Taxes were used to maintain the well being of society.

Did Jesus recommend acquisition of large amounts of capital, beyond daily bread?

No, he preached a moderate lifestyle, and did not speak too highly of those wealthy and their chances for entrance into God's kingdom.

Did Jesus feed the poor? Yes.

Did Jesus attend to the health of the poor? Yes.

Did Jesus suggest the rich renounce their wealth and follow him and his mission? Yes.

Did Jesus devote his life to acquisition of capital? No.

So the question is, would Jesus, if alive today favor corporate America and individual's greed over the needs of the poor, or would he (if speaking in a political vein) support the Government spending money to assist the poor in the areas of food, shelter, clothing and education.
