Bush Silences Air America

    Air America Bankrupted, by George!
Air America filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy today. They vow to valiantly remain on the airwaves in case somebody accidentally tunes in, but I fear it’s only a matter of time before they hang up their microphones for good. It is truly a sad day for Free Speech in this country.

Air America was a vital educational resource, so it should have been completely taxpayer-funded instead of forced to compete for listeners on the open market. Once again, the GOP has used capitalism to silence the lone liberal voice in the conservative-dominated radio wilderness. Now all we progressives have left to counter the Right-Wing Noise Machine is ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, TBS, NPR, CNN, BBC, HBO, HSN, MTV, VH1, Showtime, The Abortion Channel, Gore TV, Reuters, The Associated Press, Time Magazine, Newsweek, The New Republic, the Nation, The New Yorker, TV Guide, People Magazine, Teen People, Us Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, Oprah Magazine, Ladies Home Journal, Woman’s Day, The Advocate, Esquire, Vogue, Cosmopolitian, Humpty Dumpty, Architectural Digest, Cat Fancy, Playboy, Penthouse, Hustler, Swank, Sugar Tits Quarterly, the Harvard Perspective, High Times, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Seattle Times, The Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Seattle Weekly, The Boston Globe, The Village Voice, The San Francisco Chronicle, The San Francisco Examiner, USA Today, The Washington Post, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Arizona Daily Star, The Anniston Star , The Decatur Daily, Montgomery Advertiser, The Tuscaloosa News, Anchorage Daily News Arkansas Time, Tuscon Daily Star, The Alameda Times-Star, Contra Costa Times, The Los Angeles Daily News, The Fresno Bee, Marin Independent Journal, Merced Sun-Star, The Modesto Bee, The Monterey County Herald, The Oakland Tribune, La Opinion, The Santa Rose Press Democrat, The Sacramento Bee, San Jose Mercury News, San Mateo County Times, Santa Cruz Sentinel, The Valejo Times-Herald, The Eureka Times Standard, The Ventura County Star, Aspen Daily News, The Boulder Daily Camera, Durango Herald, Fort Collins Coloradoan, Greeley Daily Tribune, The Stamford Advocate, The Wilmington News Journal, Bradenton Herald, Daytona Beach News-Journal, Florida Today, The Gainesville Sun, The Miami Herald, Orlando Sentinel, The Palm Beach Post, St Petersburg Times, Sarasota Herald-Tribune, South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Treasure Coast News/Press-Tribune, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Macon Telegraph, The Honolulu Advertiser, Honolulu Star-Bulletin, Bonner County Daily Bee, The Idaho Statesman, Chicago Defender, Chicago Sun-Times, Edwardsville Intelligencer,Rockford Register, Lafayatte Journal and Courier, The Des Moines Register, Iowa City Press-Citizen, Quad City Times, The Storm Lake Tribune, The Hutchinson News, Lexington Herald-Leader, The Louisville Courier-Journal, Teen Lexington Herald-Leader, Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer, The Shreveport Times, Bangor Daily News. the Kennebec Journal, Portland Press Herald, The Baltimore Sun, The Berkshire Eagle, The Framingham MetroWest Daily News, Milford Daily News. So much for that right-wing myth about the “liberal media

  2. The writer's on blamebush.com are on a par with The Onion. Some of the funniest stuff I've read in ages. The Earthquake in Hawaii bit was Oh My God funny.

"Hawaii. With its lush marijuana plantations and vibrant gay community, many consider it a veritable “Garden of Eden”. Yet there’s nothing the Bible-thumping Bush regime would love more than to see the Island paradise sink into the sea like the Biblical utopias of Sodom and Gomorrah. Last weekend’s barrage of politically-motivated quakes were only the opening salvo it what threatens to be a full-scale war waged by the Christian Right against the brown-skinned Hawaiian peoples."

    LMAO.

  3. Yeah, when the shaking started over here the first thing that sprang to mind was that Bush had pressed the button on us, like how he did with Katrina.

That's the final straw for me. No one man should have utter control of the planet's weather like Bush does. Enough is enough...

    HILLARY IN '08!!

  4. Absolutely Hapa... bush fucked it up while dealing with the aftermath of Katrina. Do you remember his "heckuva job brownie" quote? If he thinks brownie did heckuva job, then you know he was not aware of what the fuck was happening. By the way, still today, more than 14 months later, there are thousands of families in the New Orleans area still looking for their fema trailer.

Also, I like your slogan... Hillary for '08 indeed. Hillary and OBama... :)

  5. Yes, Bu$$$Hitler used his evil weather machine to direct a killer hurricane at the defenseless democrat voters of New Orleans, then sent in hundreds of great white sharks spawned by global warming to dispose of the 10,000 dead bodies before they could be uncovered. Of course, appointing the hapless Brownie was a master stroke to deflect blame from the true culprits, the same evil cabal that planned 9/11, killed John Lennon and planted DNA on the blue dress. Damn that Bush!

Now they have Democrats prematurely celebrating an election victory, a victory that will turn to ashes in their mouths already dry from excessive hemp consumption when KKKarl Rove unleashes his trademark, the Rovian mind control rays that will paralyze democrat voters into a helpless stupor resembling excessive booze and drug consumption on election day, leading to another mysterious case of "poor turnout." Damn that Bush!

Republican voters will be given the secret signal by Rush Limbaugh to don their protective tinfoil hats to deflect the Rovian rays, leaving them free to storm the polls, vote repeatedly, then erect barricades in progressive neighborhoods to prevent black voters from reaching the voting sites.

It's ugly, but what can you expect when our country has been turned into a repressive theocracy.

  6. Looks like aaa have been doing that hemp stuff or maybe some of that cool acid from his viet days :D

I have read today that 47% of Americans believe Republicans "caused" oil to drop before the election. :D

  8. Is that really so far-fetched? This sudden drop in oil prices was sparked by an optimistic, yet incredibly vague announcement from Chevron about 'new' oil fields discovered in the Gulf of Mexico.

Chevron.... hmmm? Check the Secretary of State's resume, and then tell me if you can rule out with 100% certainty that the Bush administration had no influence on the timing or wording of this key announcement.

  9. The commercials, i.e. OPEC nations and the multi-international "state owned" refiners, i.e. BP, Citgo, Dutch Shell ect. are the only ones capable of moving prices. Not the 1 lot mini-crude trader who read about the Gulf find on Yahoo "news".

This is my TRUE take RM. Technology is MUCH closer to "solving" dependance on fossil fuel than at any previous time in history. Producers were unloading as much supply on this run up (especially on forward contracts in the OTC market) as possible. Before the world ever "runs out of oil" it will stop CARING about oil.......

If it's that easy, just have some dem friendly oil guy make a "counter" announcement.
