    Hey Ozzy,

If we get into another great depression I am rilly rilly sure you will be rolling in the dough. Right Mate? No spill over in Oz land, right?

I knew Bush was an idiot. I voted republican because the alternative was worse. If you like the big nanny euro socialist model then go for it. I will fight it with my life. If the opposition donkeys want to put up a moderate then I will take a look.

BTW, I did vote for Clinton in 92. Extreme gun control, gays in the military, and HillaryCare woke me up. In 94 I was actively working with others to get rid of the donkey majority in congress.

    good luck down there,

    :p :p :p

Oligopolistic? How many big oil companies are there in the world? Quite a few when you factor in the state owned companies. You might be able to make a case for refiners having a small amount of power over localized pricing, but not in the aggregate. Besides, we are not just importing crude, we are importing increasing amounts of gasoline. Why? Because regulations and environmental hippies have driven the costs of new refineries through the roof. How many have been built in the last 30 years?

    Give me a break.

In my opinion the environmental boogie men theory is promoted by Valero, Shell and the others. Less refinery capacity plays in their favor.

More and more gasoline is not the long term solution, but a true alternative will not be implemented until the pain is much higher. It really has to hit the $8 a gallon mark, and stay there.

There are so many ways this country could conserve - and not just in terms of transportation - that it is hard to have much sympathy for a population that consumes as if there is no end in sight. Just the tremendous amount of waste in terms of plastic is astounding.

  7. George W Bush is a decent president. Not the best, but not that bad either. Since 2002 there hasn't been another terrorist attack the the stock market surged 70%

And I suppose you pay attention to Rush Limbaugh too. Take off them rose colored glasses and get a reality check.
This 40 years-a-Republican is voting for the other side. Bush is worse than Carter and I didn't think that was possible.

I just hope Obama ends up like Kennedy and Ronnie, cuz we need someone of that calibur right now.

  9. If you don't count 9/11 then Bush has done a good job of protecting us from terrorists.
