So the 19 scientists who saw the movie are going to risk their reputation lying about the science.... Oy vey...
You're missing the point ENTIRELY. There is no universal consensus, and to suggest there is, is a complete an utter LIE Perhaps the other 81 think Gore is a joke ... I'll stick with the MIT atomospheric prof. http://opinionjournal.com/editorial...tml?id=95000606 http://www.opinionjournal.com/extra/?id=110008220 Mr. Lindzen is Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Atmospheric Science at MIT.
Again, they VOLUNTARILY ran out and saw the movie. That is hardly a random sample of atomospheric experts. They demonstrated a pre-disposition of supporting Gore's viewpoint by doing so. If any of the 81/100 of reciepients that didn't respond thought Gore was a crackpot, tool, OR they feared the reprecussions of disagreeing with this "inconvenient truth" they would not have bothered answering or wasting their money on it. Therefore, this MEANS NEXT TO NOTHING in the argument of whether a "univseral consensus" exits among experts that evil-rich-oil companies are ruining the world. I'll stick with the MIT atomospheric prof. http://www.opinionjournal.com/extra/?id=110008220 http://opinionjournal.com/editorial/feature.html?id=95000606 Mr. Lindzen is Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Atmospheric Science at MIT. Damn, been passing a bad link... these are good..
That was a subtle point. Gore's film was just recently released. I'd imagine it would take some time to collect opinions from 100 people ... I concluded that those who responded must have seen the movie the first week or two. Who goes out to the first week or two of a new movie? Ever been to Star Wars on opening night? (You may have, I never have). Considering the movie would present NO new evidence to an expert in the field, I place the odds very high they were true believers going in. Anyone with a differing view wouldn't waste their time.
