Extremist is in the eye of the leftist beholder. Sen. Schumer was labeling Senators who wanted to cut more than 33 billion of the budget Extremists... a budget which calls for "extreme" deficits.
Extremist is relative to non extremist, or moderate. It is easy to spot an extremist thinker...they are not moderate. We have a two party system with radically different ideologies. An extremist embraces all of one side, and denounces all of the polar opposite side. The moderate looks at issue by issue, not by party ideology.
So optional we're in agreement that a daily burning of the Koran would make it less unique and soon the radical Islamic extremist would tire of rioting every damn day. Soon it would be a yawn event. The sooner we stop pussy footing around these hyper sensitive religious groups the better. Do you remember when Elen Degenrous came out and had a bit in her show about being gay, this was a few years ago. Well they canceled her show and she shocked the nation. Now hearing about someone being gay on TV is a yawn event. Join me in burning a Koran. Go Jesus.
somehow i don't think people in afghanistan are sitting around on their la-z-boy watching cnn on a 50in flat screen waiting for a quran burning. the fuel for their anger comes from occupation, economic alienation, distrust of official leaders....and so on. if they are provoked in any way, they will keep rioting. these people have not yawned for the past ~30 years since the soviet occupation. also, if the quran burning becomes a yawn event, this would mean no publicity for the pastor. consequently, he may stop burning before the afghans stop rioting.
