eSignal displayed a suspicious spike today for the Bund M7 contract. Can someone - preferably with a different data feed - confirm this spike or confirm my suspicion that it is a bad tick? The time is CET = GMT + 1. Many Thanks
Check out futuresource, there you will be able to see the spike as well. But futuresource uses same data as esignal; on monday I'll be able to let you know if cqg also had it. http://www.futuresource.com/charts/charts.jsp?s=DGBM07&o=&a=V:2&z=650x450&d=medium&b=CANDLE&st=
Bernd, Couldnât see what you described for today but there was something strange on 21 March at 18:15 GMT (or was it European time?). The Attached Word.doc file with 5-minute bar charts illustrates this (you may have to scroll up). 18:15. June DAX 5-minute high-low range at 12 points 18:20. Range 53 points. 18:15. June Euro Stoxx DAX 5-minute high-low range at 9 points 18:20. Range at 30 points. 18:15. June Bund 5-minute high-low range at 0.22 points (116.12 â 115.90) 18:20. Range at 0.40 points (116.33 â 115.93). My news service is terrible so I couldnât find any information. Any idea? Grant.
Yes. These data are correct. On March 21, 18:15 GMT the FED announced their interest rate decision. And the markets displayed their usual behavior for "FED Days". Please search this board for "FED days" and you will find more information. And if you daytrade, by all means, consult an economic calendar - again, search this board or the web to find one - to have the times of release of economic reports at hand. Have a nice weekend Bernd Kuerbs
Bernd and Ynox1, Thank you for the replies. Knowledge of economic releases is vital and I have no excuse for ignorance here. For day-trading, I believe it best to avoid positions in the minutes prior and after release to avoid the volatility and uncertainty. Here is another source for an economic calendar: http://www.todayfx.com/calendar.html?gclid=CMyVhJav3ogCFVBmMAodVlm1jA Bernd, I think I recognise your name from a quants forum. Good trading, gentleman. Grant.
Good Morning BKuerbs, CQG shows no spike at that specific time. Must've been a feed mistake by Esignal. Have a good day!
Good morning as well. Many Thanks for your help. I reported this spike as bad tick to eSignal, but they have yet to correct it. Have a nice day Bernd Kuerbs
