    Sold.

    Covered at time of post.

    Like I said a LITTLE sell-off.

Looks like we're in wait and see mode. Bracketed the NEW High. Sell stops just awaitin' to be triggered. Since 9/11 we have just plodded along without substantial selling.

    Waitin' for the set-up.

  4. Fed pausing is already priced in.

Housing, CEO confidence (lack thereof), weak consumers...

    ...bearish.

  6. Thanks and likewise to you.

I've liquidated 9 equity positions this morning, taking substantial profits since entry in June, and I will now roll some of that money into puts.

  8. I'm fine with letting some of those profits go. They may be fleeting gains, and I do not want to trade ahead of the FOMC decision today anyways.

My portfolio is getting defensive. I do not understand why tech is soaking up all the commodity roll-over money. If the economy weakens, tech is nearly as vulnerable as basically anything else.

    The homebuilding world looks apocalyptic.

I like healthcare, consumer staples (hard to find cheap ones - Unilever looks good), and high dividend paying stocks.

Oh, and HRB still looks good to me after its recent massive hit - death and taxes.

edit: anyone else notice the "quiet" rotation out of some blue-chips today?

My permabear status has been hurtful insofar as the long side has been more profitable as of late. I've been sidelined for much of the most recent rally. Yesterday my quote as to "big money buying here" 09-19-06 05:18 PM

Although as I am posting now some big money is covering.
did not result in a long swing trade as I sat that swing up out. Oh well. May through July was of course a different story.

Thanks for the input I'm gonna go soak my head for a little while in the cool ocean and see what this p.m. brings.

    Good Luck
