Any plans to make it to "Hot August Nights" in Reno? I just bought a nice little cruiser to take up there. I'll buy dinner? My brother in law has a couple of 56 Chevy's, and I thought I would get a laid back cruiser for the parade. Don
Piker for life Thankyou for that hint on OTM Verticals. For lower spreads. Worth it´s weight in gold that information. Will check it out shortly on this Sunday. re: the TOS analysis stuff. That is for desktop. I´m using web based. Due to being in a foreign country with uncertain web services and speeds. Brownouts, slow downs and stuff. Re: Don Bright´s remark. As an old man I can tell you that even if you think you know stuff well. When you teach others, your own capabilities get enhanced many times in value. Even if I don´t know stuff, and want to learn something well, the best way I´ve found is to start teaching it. Boy do you find out how much you don´t know and refresh your memory on things forgotten. Old trick in group teaching. Assign the bright ones to teach the dumb ones. The bright ones get brighter and sharper and the dumb ones get less dumb. Just for selfish reasons, teach others something and see how you get better. I would think a $ 1 Vertical debit spread would be a quick turnover trade, if you timed it right. Even if you just wanted to earn another $1. Will have to look at the timing of such a thing.
Mr. Falconview.... Sir. I absolutely agree with what you're saying. My trading always seems to get better when I'm teaching live etc. And, please, don't ever take any of my comments as ill meaning or derisive, I truly like helping people.... everyone, even though I know they will never become Bright Traders, or anything else. I would love to visit your paradise sometime.... keep up the good work.... Don
AAA in the beltway. Thanks for the correction. Making me think indeed. I have lost tremendous in Black Swan credit spreads. I´m not sure of the difference in the sense of trading as one method? In credit spreads, given no big market deviations, you can double your money in five months by pyramiding. Unfortunately a Black Swan dive will wipe your whole year account out, because of pyramiding, I guess. I´m not at all sure how that would, or could work out with a debit spread? Having no experience with it The returns on credit spreads are not that good, unless you can trade weekly and you can keep pyramiding your account, then they get fantastic. However, the pucker factor goes up accordingly. Somebody mentioned that directional buying was the most rewarding. Too true! I agree with that. You gotta be sharp and be able to close and reverse fast though when wrong.
Yeah, it's only 40mins to Reno. PM me that week. There are some decent stops in Reno and a friend of mine just opened a nice place downtown.
Do you at least miss the real life? I keep thinking that I'll give myself another 2-3 years of this game and move out to the south of France, but I know it will never happen...
I spent a year out here in my early 30s and couldn't wait to get back. Mostly due restaurants, clubs and eye candy. Being away from the city at that age was unbearable (NYC, Chi or LA). Now, with kids running around I really don't miss it. And I still have a sh*tload of miles for upgrade fares. Where? My family had a place in Aix. I spent a lot of time there as a kid in Nice and North from SPdV to Aix. Saw my first GP of Monaco in 82. I still have hundreds of pics of me running around the Hotel Martinez and the Loews MC.
