nice machine tums, my congrats. been using a q6600 (bit OC) myself now for MC & TS, does a superb job. was quite a challenge to build it quiet & cool, but now the monster is almost silent good trades, cosmic
Thanks... it was a fun project. The machine ran flawlessly since day one. For most situations, the CPU loading was less than 5%. What steps did you take to make it quiet?
Update... the CPU heatsink popped out of its place... the thermo sensor inside the CPU shut down the machine automatically, preventing a nuclear melt down. <img src=http://elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=2154897> I reset the heatsink... making sure the screws are doubly tight. I should have replaced the thermo paste, but I didn't have any on hand... and seeing the old paste is still "good"... and it was late at night... and I was in a hurry to get the machine up and running again, I took a gamble and just re-sit the fins. So far so good...
