I always admired Lancia for their bad taste. I never understood how they always could design such an ugly cars. The Bugatti Veyron belongs to the same category. An ugly car, an insane price, prices for maintenance are only paid by (very rich) idiots, nobody with a bit of common sense would ever pay that. If you drive 15 minutes at full speed, your tires are gone (16,000 euro for 1 set) and you have to take fuel again as the 100 liters are gone too.
You can always buy a super-car for an investment: Jay Leno's McLaren F1 purchased for $800K, last offer he turned down was $11.5M. https://www.cnbc.com/video/2014/08/29/jay-lenos-best-investment.html
450 Bugatti Veyron's were produced till now. Rarity defines the price, so you cannot compare the F1 Mc Laren with the hundreds of Bugatti's that exist. You can find second hand Veyron's for sale by the dozen. Finding an F1 Mc Laren will be a bit more difficult... so price will be different too.
