  1. OMAHA, Neb. — Billionaire Warren Buffett says the U.S. government is doing the right things to help the economy recover.

Buffett spoke briefly Saturday morning before the annual meeting for his Berkshire Hathaway Inc. was set to begin.

Roughly 35,000 people were expected to attend the all-day event. Buffett and his partner Charlie Munger will spend more than five hours answering questions.

Buffett says he can't predict how quickly the economy and the markets will improve.

Buffett has made headlines in the past year with his views on the economy, including that the U.S. faced an "economic Pearl Harbor" last fall.
