I see people denied entry and deported at the airport regularly. Plus the media regularly covers stories about the round-ups of illegals in the GTA. Compared to the U.S., Canada is very strict about illegals. The majority of illegals in Canada are people who overstayed their Visas, not illegal Mexicans and Central Americans who simply wandered over the border without any Visa. It is a very different situation than the U.S. - where we effectively have not attempted any enforcement. On the other side, it is much easier for an individual to obtain legal residency or work permit in Canada than in the U.S. It is also much easier to get refugee status on entry into Canada.
So much stupidity: Federal overreach [all of which is unconstitutional], War on Drugs, War on Poverty, unionized public sector, lobbyists writing laws that elected officials rubberstamp, Child Protective Services that get federal money for taking children and putting them into foster care and eventually sex trafficking... and people that say TA doesn't work, that's the last straw!
