btc should have no problem going to 1 million

Discussion in 'Crypto Assets' started by trend2009, Sep 19, 2021.

  1. If I was to use Bitcoin in any significant fashion, I would have to scale my plans for security to the size of the transactions/holdings.
For less than $10000, a wallet with a normal pc.
For 10k to 200k a dedicated pc, isolated or firewalled as much as possible.
For over 200k, a pc in a physically secure location (like a bank) and efforts taken to conceal my identity. (To avoid targeted kidnapping, cyber attacks, blackmail etc)

In my opinion the value of Bitcoin is in its ability to be used as a means of international currency transfer. As long as it is actively being used, there is value, but I think that it will eventually go the way of myspace.

Don't use Windoze for bitcoin and cryptos

Imho, 1 btc or higher should be on a CEX like Coinbase with 2fa like yubikey enabled. That will take care of your concerns of not being kidnapped

Not your keys, not your coins. You should install linux, compile bitcoin sw from github source, run a full node for the bulk of your bitcoin holdings

Check out Vegas nowadays. You'll see some young people dropping $10K bundles at Craps tables and using passports as ID because there's no physical address on it, haha, laughable OpSec, you can spot bitcoin/crypto rich folks in Vegas

The best times to see them are during bitcoin/crypto conferences or during DEF CON but they pretty much hang out in Vegas a lot,. I haven't gone in a few months but see their tweets talking about it every now and then

Don't worry about getting kidnapped, too much riches out there, no one cares about you, the Fed is printing trillions of $, plenty of $$$ everywhere for everyone!

Too much $$$, travel restrictions, nowhere to enjoy it, except..... Vegas, baby!

  5. Observing humanity, society, throughout history...is like watching a mass of zombies all snorting the same cocaine, or drinking the same spiked Kool-Aid.
Through good times, bad times, and everything else in between...it's all the same braindead, unoriginal, groupthink.
Mass hysteria. It all just makes me roll my eyes.

Whether is a political movement, fashion movement, revolt, religious movement, spiritual movement, marketing and advertising, propaganda, leaders and influencers, businesses, etc etc etc...it's all just mind control, power control, wealth control. Disguised.
New Years' Eve parties....the Superbowl...the next iPhone or Playstation....everyone does, the same, f'n thing, every year w/o question.

When people buy up things, create a bubble, mainly...because they see the next braindead person doing it....I want to see them all burn, explode, implode.

  6. This is just like the discussions I used to participate in back in early 2017. I thought most people had grown beyond this. After a rant similar to what you just wrote the person asked "Why would anyone ever want to buy Bitcoin? I responded (and you can look it up on ET) "Because one day you will say I once could have bought a whole Bitcoin for $2,500 (Price at the time)

Sorry to see you have doubled down on the cruelty.

  7. Ever since social media and smartphones were invented, and became mainstream, around 2007...I became a rather darker, cynical, sarcastic person.
I use to be normal and happy and bright before this.

Life, humanity, society, felt so much more warmer, original, genuine and authentic...back in the early 2000's, mid-2000's, and 90's.
Social media and smartphones has turned everyone, society, humanity, into annoying, 2-bit, dumb, impatient, intolerant, unoriginal, excitable, greedy, zombies and sheep. It's a Monkey see, monkey do world.

Oh, it started happening way before that. In the late 1990s my Aunt and I used to lament how the world seemed to be "getting stupider and stupider". There was a definite change happening and it was noticeable back then!

Now it has evolved (de-evolved?) into complete strangers anywhere in the USA suing people they do not know in Texas who helps a woman they do not know get a post-6-week abortion, and getting a guaranteed $10K prize for it! I call it the problem of everyone being in everyone else's business.

    Madness.

  9. Since I have not participated in any social media other than texting to friends and Elite Trader, I am glad to hear that I can stay "normal and happy and bright" :) I am a little perplexed to hear social media has that effect on people.

You cannot always be right, sometimes you win sometimes you lose. There will moments that you will take the bad decision too, nobody is perfect.
As long as you did not sell all you BTC, you are never sure that you will be right. You are only right if you can sell them for fiat currencies and make a profit. Open profits can still turn into real losses or even total losses.
I assumed wrongly that you would know that.
