BT ratings

  1. I responded privately, not wanting to lower myself to this silliness. The "ratings" are what brought me to this board to begin with...We can equate negative comments to the way that some must try to make themselves look good by putting down others. All I ever ask is for sensible people to to their own research and not be swayed by every dog nipping at our toes.

Technically, both can be beat. However, beating one will land you in jail, while beating the other will land you on the sidewalk or at "any game other than blackjack". :)

well, i just want to say my previous comment stands. if there is anything that is not 100% honest i am open to someone pointing this out to me. i really can't believe that it would upset anyone to begin with.

  4. I was one of the first to post my review of tradiing at bright trading. I traded in Las Vegas and it was miserable. I left a few months after the move to the new location.

I left on good standing, had lost a little of my 25k but I was not bitter. Tammy Bright was one of the first posters, I believe it was the only good one.

I have been a away from the business and elitetrader for a long time, but I am going to start trading again (just have to figure out where).

I still have friends in the Las Vegas Bright office and talk to them often to see if anything has changed since my departure. So far, the only thing that has changed is that it is empty downstairs, (2 traders) and half full upstairs, and I heard the west side is not even half full.

I cannot believe Don Bright's picture is on this board, LOL.

  5. You are, of course, welcome at any of our locations. Currently we have 44 traders in our LV location registered out of 46 locations. Some have chosen to trade at home, but their spots are still here. We are knocking down a wall and adding another 35 trading locations at the main building at this time to accomodate those who come for training and decide to stay awhile.

We have added 100 to our remote ranks, about half from the various locations...and have no problem with that since we have the new platforms in place.

Anyway, we keep doing our best to make our traders profitable, and have continued to grow at 40% per year rate....feel free to come by and chat.

BTW, Tammy has never posted on elite that I know of...but she is here daily, trading and working.

(and, btw, what about the picture of me? I have a great face for Radio!!) LOL...

  6. I have been trading with bright for a little over a year now. I feel that most of the comments that have been posted are unfair and inaccurate. Everyone, seems to be complaining about systems, software, executions, charges, etc. I feel compelled to touch base on all of these.

First, there software works just fine. I have no problems getting executions using the REDI product. I trade size and quantity. My trading strategy is risk arbitrage where executions are critical to making money. Furthermore, I trade at least 40 different stocks and more than 350,000 shares per day. The bottom line is REDI is a good execution platform. Second, i use FIRSTALERT, i know of no other software product that is as capable of monitoring all my stocks for my own customized criteria. I get the alert, I go after the trade, and more often than not, I get it, and make money!

As for the systems, i chose to invest in my own computer. Why would i complain about something as inexpensive as a computer. I bought my own pentium 4, for $600. Why? Because i keep 20 Montages open at one time, plus an Excel spreadsheet with an active link to REDI. This is very processor intensive. I had a problem and solved it! Improvise, Adapt, Overcome! Since this minor upgrade, i have not had any problems with order or system delays.

As for executions, well the P&L says it all. The fact is, I am making money 9 out of 10 days. If executions were impossible to get...I wouldn't make any money. This seems to punch holes in the theory that redundant systems and faster connections make for better executions. The fact is at best we are talking about nanoseconds. And you can't hit the button or the mouse any faster.

As for erroneous charges. All charges are spelled out in your trader agreement. As a trader you should be aware of these before you start.

The office environment is one that is very supportive. I can not count the times that a heads up from one of my associates has allowed me to get in and out of positions at great prices. This alone is worth the cost of leasing office space.

Finally a word about Bright. They allow me to trade. I am allowed to swing positions and take risks without being hassled by a risk department. They have helped me to reduce my costs. How may firms do you know that would call and let you know you are paying specialist fees, and could eliminate them by updating your software. This alone was a savings of $200 per day. They allow me to gauge my own risk and take the trades i want to take. When i need to pay myself, the money is in the bank that same day. When I want to trade in another office, i simply make a phone call, and i can go visit family and friends, and conduct my business. Plus, I have developed an entire network of traders and friends at other offices through out the country. As traders, we are able to talk and give feed back to each other about trades, what's working, and what isn't on an intraday basis.

I can say this about Bright, the keep their promises, they are honest to deal with, and they treat their people fairly.

Thank you so much for your comments, (from an actively trading Bright Trader), I feel that you gave a realistic and rather enlightening comment on what really occurs with Bright. I've attended the week long training, and do to unforeseen financial difficulties, I won't be able to join the firm in the time span I had hoped for. This commentary by you only confirms, (for me at least) what I saw during my short time in Las Vegas. I talked to <several> traders that were consistently making money and got to know both Don and his, (older, wiser and better looking) brother) Robert a little and really enjoyed their approach to helping traders become successful.

Thanks again for your comments and I hope to some day possibly meet you and trade with Bright.

    Regards,

  10. Why is it that Bright has 600 traders but maybe only 10 are posting on this board?

Did Bob order them to not talk?
