Nothing hypothetical or philosophical about it. I'm asking a single, simple, straight forward question to try and better understand your thinking. *Should traders set stoploss orders with their brokers?* Once again all of what you are saying is mostly true, however, it is all incredibly vague and does not help someone that doesn't already have a good understanding of the subject. Just like "Buy low, sell high" sounds like good advice, but it is meaningless without context.
That all depends on a lot of variables and circumstances. Me, personally, I don't set fixed physical stop losses. It's much more of a mental artistic, intuitive, one. Other traders who are much more mechanical and basic....then yes, have stop losses in place to minimize further unknown future damage CamCam
Retail Brokers don’t want to bother with this. If you can code, use any api broker to implement yourself. Or it should be relatively inexpensive to hire someone for this. BTW, if you tell me this will not solve your problems, then neither will the broker. You can always call and ask for a reset.
