If your trading strategies are well-defined, I don’t think the type of spread you opt would matter or affect your profit.

 

Floating spreads for me simply because the trading account cost is far less than the fixed

How do you deal when the floating spread increases up to 8-10 pips for major currency pairs? Any insight would be helpful.

 

If you're in the UK do not overlook the financial spreadbetting providers. They are FCA-regulated exactly like any other brokers. The nice thing is that SB profits are completely exempt from UK tax.
