Can anyone recommend a good broker. Requirements:

    1) Should have a platform runnable on linux, or web based.
    2) Not IB - I already have an account there.
    3) Deep discount commissions.

Mainly looking for futures trading. Also with no platform fees.

Have you ever thought about direct-access platforms?

  5. When it comes to platforms, you get what you pay for. But sometimes free is enough for what you need.

Not only that, Direct access platforms are the best way to go for active daytrading hands down. Not only can you get 20 : 1 leverage if you are licensed, commissions are generally very low and on a per trade basis. If you don't have a license, a lot of these firms will provide 4:1 intra day leverage right out of the gates.
