My broker is tradezero and it won't give me margin on stocks below $3. Is this universal for most brokers? Or do some brokers offer margin below that?
https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/index.php?f=24176 Could compare there. Believe it’s different depending on where you live and their regulations. For U.S resident trading U.S theirs a 100% margin on short positions below 3.00 it says.
Some strategies are restricted or not allowed on stocks which fall below a threshold. That's one of the reason for reverse splits.
