    OOPS;
    another bad sign\ he did not answer your question within a reasonable time period.:caution::caution:
    ACTUALLY I have that happen also, not bitcons, but orders went wrong:D:D
    SCHW [IBKR also, just to name 2]is a great broker ,
    but I have gotten plenty of messages ''there has been an update + your order can not be cancelled '' LOL
    So what happened ?? The market moved so you got your original limit profit ; or original loss exit since market moved from limit order , in the time I tried to change it.
    Original posters broker[ if that is the correct case as he noted it ??] maybe a crook or crooked customer service, but only of OP is telling us the whole, truthful story+ he has not, as of MON 11;49 CST]:caution::caution:

  4. It's a listed stock and the broker has been around for years.

  5. It's about 3am est before the market opens.

    There's actually 3 trades, only 1 out of 3 cancelled. 2 trades were filled subsequently.

    You hide (intentionally or intentionally) vital info in your posting #1.

    When you press CANCEL, don't expect the instruction to reach the EXCHANGE within a second.
    Also because you hide tons of information, no one knows whether THE CANCEL
    instruction resides in your PC,
    or the broker server,
    or the Exchange server.

    At the EXCHANGE, there is MATCHING taking place (your order is PREMARKET) based on the preprogrammed algorithm.
    Since you are trading premarket, You need to be familiar with all the technical details.

    At > X seconds before the market opens, the order can be modified, or canceled.

    At < Y seconds before the market opens, the order cannot be canceled but
    can be modified.

    At < Z seconds before the market opens, the order cannot be canceled and cannot
    be modified.

    No one knows when you cancel the order (other than your words 'about 3am est').
    No one knows which Exchange you are using.
    No one knows which broker you are using.

    I guess it is a secret.
    Then you might as well keep your Q a secret.

    You are not being honest;

    Your posting #1 and #15 are contradictory.

    @TrastyTrader111, Indeed, you surely have deserved a better answer from your broker's support desk, and in correct english :)

    But I wonder why you mention Central Time: shouldn't that be rather New York time, ie. EST or EDT ?
    And: can it be true that it happened when daylight saving recently switched from EST to the current EDT ? :)

    The time difference between Central Europe (Berlin etc.) and New York is normally 6 hours.
    BUT there is 1 week (or maybe 2) in the year when the difference is only 5 hours! (like is currently the case).
    This happens b/c they switch the daylight saving on different dates... (1 week apart)
    So, maybe also in your case something similar like that striked... :)

  10. I mentioned Central Time because that's the time stamp used by my broker.
