Would you let some jackass who enlisted purely for financial gain to be in your squadron? How reliable do you think the guy might be? Do you think he would cover your ass when the time comes? It's something to think about.

  2. Talk to a recruiter you will understand lol. About the physical issues that is. I quit before it got too bad anyways.

Been there, done that, know all about recruiters and medical issues.

Your whole story just doesn't add up, but it's not worth the time to debate it.

Unless you get stop-lossed, maimed or killed, that is.

Pat Tillman enlisted right after 9-11 with the declared purpose of coming back with Bin-Laden's head in a bag.

You enlisted after getting married and having kids saying that you weren't living the big life.

I sure hope your wife doesn't surf this forum. :D (peace)

  9. Like any other job, you have to go in with the right mindset. The Army is a place where you have to absolutely enjoy being an outdoorsman, an athlete and a hunter. If you dont enjoy camping, hiking or running then you will probably not last very long. Every military unit that I was involved in, no matter what they did, went into the field and ran everyday. Even soldiers of the Army band have to meet the same physical standards that everyone else has to meet and do a certain amount of time in the field.

If you like spending lots of time in the midwest in places like Ft Hood Texas...if you like being an athlete and can manage spending weeks of time in the outdoors...then the military is for you. However, if you go in with a different mindset and cant handle any of that then its not the place for you to be.

You forgot to mention, getting shot at, killing other people, ordering people to their possible death and possibly getting maimed or killed yourself. War is HELL.
