Where was the American Consulate at the time of BG's detainment to represent her?

"Miss BG is this your possession? Here sign these papers written in Russian..."
    Bye Bye.

Nothing quite like deprivation to enhance appreciation for things, like, ohhhh, let's think.. America's Hard Earned freedoms and rights, maybe? Da comrade? Prison colony cushymoremuch than labor colony. You like, Da? Play ball.

Amazing, extreme liberals coming out in droves out of the woodwork to bash Russia and claim she was unlawfully detained despite, Brittney Griner, pleading guilty to the crimes she is charged with. I am rooting for Putin to say no to any exchange deals. Entitlement showing its true colors every single day. For that alone, let all her entitled supporters demonstrate, rally, protest and hold their breaths while, she stays in that Russian jail the full 9 years. Other detained Americans in Russia are not being exchanged nor efforts to secure their release undertaken. All Americans should be treated equally, not only the politically connected like Brittney Griner. The best thing to happen would be for Putin to just say no. Let the Biden administration do exchanges for other detained Americans instead.

    Good points
Her only other option is that Russia wins Ukraine and Putin has no reason to use her as leverage.
This option would better fit Griners anti-American sentiments

Athletes, stars, politicians, get VIP treatment which is mighty cushy and becomes expected
Try the crap Hunter does and tell me how fast your ass ends up behind bars, lol.

Americans abroad can get a rude awakening just strolling a back road in Mexico to try his luck at an off the beaten path fishin hole. Got an earfull from a cat over a beer one time of what he went through for that. Context is Key, lol.

BG may have failed to consider the context, which includes the political situation and the laws of the side of the fence you are standing on, Russia. Their field, their rules.

I hope when she gets back she rips USA for taking so long to get her fixed.
Obviously a regular citizen would have had 2 or 3 high value prisoners exchanged even before a court case - backed up with threats against Russia. Pure bias against lbqtx etc.

"Griner faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted of “large-scale transportation of drugs”; the cartridges had 0.252 grams and 0.45 grams of hash oil, which is considered enough for personal use, prosecutors stated at a previous hearing."

THC oil is not an opium derived product, so not a narcotic other than under the classification created by "the man".

    --
"The problem with smoking THC oil, rather than cannabis, is it carries more serious criminal penalties. Possession of THC oil (a Schedule I narcotic) carries a possible sentence of five years in prison, as it is a third-degree felony. Possession of cannabis in its natural form, on the other hand, carries only misdemeanor penalties, which include up to 12 months in jail and a $1,000 fine, as long as the amount possessed is less than 20 grams."
Penalties for Concentrated Marijuana Extracts in Florida
Under the Florida Statutes, § 893.003, THC oil is a Schedule I controlled substance. Under § 893.13, possession of THC oil is a third-degree felony, punishable by a maximum of five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.

Do we have a complete detailed inventory of the goods that Grinder, a professional athlete familiar with cross-border travel, is said to have smuggled over an international border? Show us.
The reason I ask is because a half gram of hash oil is simply not “large-scale transportation of drugs”. Are some pertinent facts not being revealed here? Is this a limited hangout? Limited Hangout - https://www.dogpile.com/serp?q=Limited+Hangout

What is the resource burden in manpower, cost, possible physical danger and death related to the taking into custody three high value prisoners?

If ten athletes a year are busted annually, and three high value prisoners are released for each, what changes would you suggest be made by american authorities?

How 'bout it be made crystal clear, especialy to professional for profit organizations such as the playground game playing league that Grinder plays for that the burden of risk falls on the player to make arrangements through someone other than mommy government to come bail they stupid asses out of the jams that they pampered asses Get Themselves Into? (This same law for this same substance exists in america too, so it is not an obscure technicality that Grinder got busted for.) "Sign here to acknowledge and agree to the stipulation as a term of your passport otherwise your passport is revoked and not renewed until this statement is signed and on file. Have a nice day.

    What makes Grinder so special?
Show us the complete drugs inventory as published by the commies.

If it is for a half gram of hash oil, then laugh and tell the commies they ain't seein a single freakin high value prisoner, give them a couple weeks to release Grinder and pay some stiff punitive damages. If no response then eventually send in a special ops team and let em have some fun, lol.

    Next!

  9. It is about messaging. “No matter what stupid-ass mistakes you make in a foreign country, your friends at the DNC have your back”. If you are a Black, woman, LGBQ+ that is. This is while other Americans already convicted of similar crimes having been sitting in jail, including a teacher.

Let’s see what Viktor Bout, the arms dealer in the proposed trade for Britney was charged with before he was tried and convicted in a system where a defendant’s guilt must be proven:

    1. Conspiracy to kill US Nationals (18 USC ch. 2332b).
    2. Conspiracy to kill US officers and employees (18 USC ch. 1114).
    3. Conspiracy to acquire and export a missile system designed to destroy aircraft (18 USC ch. 2332g).
    4. Conspiracy to provide material support or resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization (18 USC 2339b).

    According to Wikipedia.org, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viktor_Bout

Bout's network allegedly delivered surface-to-air missiles to Kenya to be used to attack an Israeli airliner during takeoff in 2002.[52]

Bout is thought to have been discharged from the Soviet Army upon its dissolution in 1991 with the rank of lieutenant colonel, whereupon he started an air freight business. Other sources state he was a major in the GRU, an officer in the Soviet Air Forces, that he graduated from a Soviet military intelligence training program, or an operative of the KGB.[2][6][19][23]. So Bout may be effectively helping Russia carry out its geopolitical ambitions

In 2004, Bout and Chichakli set up Samar Airlines in Tajikistan to conduct money laundering activities and protect assets from authorities.[51] Bout is suspected of supplying weapons to numerous armed groups in Africa in the 2000s, particularly in the Democratic Republic of the Congo during the Second Congo War. He may have employed some 300 people and operated 40 to 60 aircraft.[24]. Sounds like a fairly extensive operation with the side benefit for a Putin disclaimer, “It’s not my dog”.

Bout's strategy of constantly moving location, owning numerous companies, and frequently re-registering aircraft made it hard for authorities to make a case against him. He has never been charged for the alleged African arms deals to which he owes his notoriety.[2][40][55] During Bout's reported operations, he is believed to have lived in various countries, including Belgium, Lebanon, Rwanda, Russia, South Africa, Syria, and the United Arab Emirates.[24][35][53][56][57. So Bout is a dangerous man who is hard to catch. Given the state of relations between Russia and the US right now, if nothing else, do we really want this guy up and running again?

Now let’s review Brittany. She violated a drug law of a foreign country and is subject to their legal system. While the punishment Britney received may be deemed harsh by our standards, it seems reasonable to attempt to negotiate a “More fair” outcome on her behalf. The US, with its extensive tourist and business base, has leverage that can be used to accomplish this. The last thing most countries want is for the US state department to restrict travel of high spending US citizens to their country. Even now, with Russia under sanctions, Russia is likely looking forward to trade being normalized and might be responsive to a offer reflecting our strong negotiating position. Hell, even I would be open minded about exchanging a couple of cooperating Russians involved in financial crimes for Brittney.

Every American and NATO member citizen killed as a result of Viktor Bout’s release would fall upon the Biden Administration who in effect traded a message to their base for American and American Allies’ lives. Another message the Biden Administration is sending, albeit unintentionally, is the US is unwilling to accept any losses in maintaining the geopolitical status quo. Being involved against the world’s second largest military machine means there will be losses, yes?

Should the Biden Administration agree to exchange Viktor for Brittney, perhaps we the people will need to deliver a message of our own in upcoming elections. A message that when it comes to our safety, all American lives matter. By the way, where was the Biden Administration in regards to other Americans detained well before Brittney, who are in similar circumstances as her in Russia, again?

  10. I don't follow her or her politics, but there are many of her ilk who piss on the country but want the American flag lowered to half-staff and the Marines sent in when they are in trouble.
