Your website says... "Professional traders get interest on short stock held overnite (over $100K)" Does this mean that if I am short $100,000 of stock I not only do not pay interest but I *receive* interest? Can you clarify? Thanks!
I am not part of Don's firm, but generally when you are short stock you receive interest on the cash from the sale, but also PAY margin interest on the value of the borrowed stock (which hopefully will be going down). So really it just lowers your expense a bit as you are (hopefully obviously) making less in MM interest than you are paying in margin interest.
