Iâm new to the forum here, but Iâve been reading/studying the various "Wyckoff threads" here on ET, as well as on TL and BMT, and I just wanted to say thank you to dbphoenix for his extraordinary willingness to continue sharing his time and knowledge. I also wanted to thank some of the other consistent participants here (Gringo, niko, llIHeroic, etc.) not only for their perspectives, but for their willingness to ask questions. Appreciate you guys, -AT
Thursday replay ...this ninja trader is great ...the live market data only lasts a few weeks if you don't open an account but the replay feature seems to go on indefinitely ..even works if you go overseas ..
babe714, I've been using NinjaTrader for years and for what it does (free charting, replay, etc.) I absolutely love it. The Market Replay feature is extremely powerful, but very underrated (even by me in the past) because few are willing to actually go back and watch/practice as dbphoenix suggests. Are you also using the DOM to actually place your sim orders so that you can prep yourself as much as possible for the "real thing?" When I first started using Market Replay I ran into some frustrating issues that I've since worked out. I'm not an expert by any means, but if you have any problems with it, feel free to ask here or PM me. -AT
no..but as you suggest, I should be ..don't like how it marks up charts when making a trade .. Think I can hook up ninja to my regular broker IB....been doing the replays at 1x speed ...need as much time as possible to make decisions ...will be doing replays for quite a while before live ...I hesitate posting my replays because they don't do this method justice...looking at some of the trades missed.... can see the tremendous potential of the method..really should find a quiet place alone when trading ..
Actually, you shouldn't. If you want to look at just T&S, fine, but the "depth" of the market is irrelevant. Or you could just plot a 1t chart and set it off to the side to be used only when entering a trade or managing an exit trigger.
I apologize for the confusion. I was referring to it simply as a means to actually place a sim order and "commit" to the trade during one's practice - not for analysis of any kind. -AT
Right-click on your chart and select âData Seriesâ¦â At the bottom of the list of properties, in "Plot executions," select âDoNotPlot.â
20 mins for the open and we are at the top of last weeks TR. Around 70. SL in the 60 min was broken overnite and DL is way too steep to be sustainable. But for now, focus on breaks and RETs, follow the drill. Still have not figure out how to scratch, but on route towards that goal.
And babe, from my experience, using the chart trader feature of ninja is much more faster than using the DOM entries.
