2. I am not worried about the future of the Brazilian economy, I get feedback on a regular basis, and I talk with people who knows what is going on around Brazil.

If you think the Brazilian economy revolves around Iron ore, Soy, and Orange juice as you suggested – that is fine with me.

That means that you don't have a clue about what is happening in Brazil today.

Can BRICS save world economy and take on the West? - March 30, 2012

The trade ministers of BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) met in Delhi to discuss ways to strengthen economic ties. But can they take on the Western economic powers?

  3. this guy "mokwit" is not a mokwit but a completely dimwit! just another clueless American hillbilly who can't accept that his days in the sun are nearly over...

You know absolutely nothing about Brazil mate, just like the majority of you Americans know nothing about anything that happens beyond your own borders... They can't even speak their own language let alone comprehend another one other than their own.

Thanks for all the coca-colas and macdonalds you guys gave us but we don't need them nor do we want them anymore. Move over out of our way, things have changed and we are about the whip your arses like you guys have been doing to the rest of the world for way too long...

I will gladly go back to Brazil mate as long as you stay back in Ohio and the hell out of my way...

  5. Boeing will create a research and technology center in Brazil to develop aerospace technologies.

The airline has had a relationship with Brazil since 1932, when it delivered 14 F4B-4 airplanes to the country's government. Boeing's first commercial delivery to Brazil was in 1960.

Boeing, which is based in Chicago, said Tuesday that Brazil is the fastest-growing commercial aviation market. The company anticipates that the country will need to buy more than 1,000 airplanes worth more than $100 billion in the next 20 years.

The San Paulo center, which will be called Boeing Research & Technology-Brazil, will be the base for it to collaborate with Brazilian research and development organizations including government agencies, private-sector companies and universities.

The facility is expected to concentrate on technology related to sustainable aviation biofuels, advanced air traffic management and advanced metals and bio-materials. It is expected to open later this year and will be Boeing's sixth advanced research facility outside the U.S. The company already has centers in Europe, Australia, India, China and Russia.

Shares of The Boeing Co. declined 51 cents to $74.66 in midday trading.

SouthAmerica: Mokwit, before you know "Embraer" will take over Boeing Corp. - the new company BoEmbraer...

What is left of useful US companies are for sale anyway - Budweiser, Burger King, very soon Boeing, and so on....

The new US economy will be based on Zynga - Americans will be able to buy a farm, in Farmville, and they also be able to buy real estate, in Cityville. Americans finally will live in a complete world of illusion. And they finally Americans will be able to conquer the world in this make believe world.

Americans will be able to connect to LinkedIn (the rolodex) and get any job they want since in that world of illusion you will be able to get a job as a rocket scientist, an astronaut, be any type of doctor, or even a policeman on Cityville and Farmville.

You will be able to use your Groupon coupons to buy anything you want in the Zynga world.

You also will be able to rate the restaurants, and everything else you want to rate using the Yelp service.

And this American make believe world of the future is what gives the value of Facebook of a possible 100 billion monopoly make believe dollars.

Yes, you will be able to use monopoly make believe dollars (the new US currency) to buy railroads, houses, apartment buildings, and so on in Atlantic City or in any of the Zynga Cityvilles.

Ben Bernanke probably still be Fed Chairman and he will be trying to blow bubbles as fast as he can with his new monopoly money; to inflate the prices of everything on this new American make believe world.

The Republicans are going to be happy with this new American make believe system since when senior citizens get sick they will be sent to a Zynga Hospital, and would be taken care by the Zynga doctors and Zynga make believe drugs and the system would use Groupon coupons and monopoly make believe money.

Zynga world is the future of the United States social-economic system - the world of illusion.

SouthAmerica: Here is my reply to the above posting to a regular member of the Charlie Rose Show forum at:

    http://www.charlierose.com/view/interview/12265

Gelles, I don't think that we both have gone mad.

But I am sure that the people on Wall Street have gone mad.

Zynga is a game company on the internet where you can buy a farm, or start your own city.

The company's top three games – FarmVille, FrontierVille and CityVille – accounted for 57 percent of online game revenue. Total revenue was $311.2 million for the quarter ending December 31, 2011.

Players can accept credit card offers, take surveys or buy services from Zynga's partners in order to obtain game credits, which would allow them to replenish their character's energy or receive premium currency that could be exchanged for other various virtual goods.

Players may also purchase game credits directly from Zynga via credit cards or PayPal. From within the game, players can purchase the points for a fee: US$5.00 for 21 game credits, for example.

In March 2010 Zynga started selling prepaid cards for virtual currency at more than 12,800 stores across the US.

This company started in July 2007 and went public in December 2011 and it has a market cap of around $ 10 billion dollars.

People are spending a lot of real money (if you still can call the US dollar real money these days) to buy virtual goods.

If Zynga represents the future of US job creation, then the United States job market is out of luck, since Zynga has only 3,000 employees, and 2/3 of them are located outside of the United States.

    *****

LinkedIn is an internet rolodex that also has a US$ 10 billion market Cap.

Groupon is a company specialized in coupons and that company has a US$ 10 billion market cap.

But this latest internet bubble will reach its blow up point when Facebook goes public in May or June 2012 – they are estimating that Facebook will reach a US$ 75 billion to US$ 100 billion market cap right from its IPO.

That will be an extreme example of Wall Street gone mad, but the good news is that there are plenty of suckers out there who are willing to be taken for a ride.

“Goldman Sachs the Pillage People” stock is trading at $ 120 per share and P/E 27 – when that stock should be trading at most for P/E 14 that translates to US$ 63 per share – that stock should be trading at half its current market price.

SouthAmerica: As the American system lives today by milking the last drop of its past and becomes completely obsolete by each passing minute - the BRICS are moving into the future at the speed of light...they are moving into the world of the 21st century.

China is trying to get as much gold (real gold, and not etf's, of stock of gold mining companies) on the hands of the Chinese people as the can.

On the other hand, as the United States turn the US dollar into confetti as fast as the US Federal Reserve can create more US dollars from thin air - the Brazilians will not be able to use even as confetti during Carnival the US$ 350 billion dollars of foreign currency reserves that the Brazilian Central bank is holding right now, because most of these US dollar foreign currency reserves are nothing more than a bookkeeping entry and nothing else.

  9. Brazil cult members arrested for cannibalism

Brazilian police announced Friday that they had arrested a man and two women on suspicion of having murdered and cannibalized at least two women in what was described as a purification ritual.

The three defendants formed a sect called "Cartel" that seeks to purify the world and reduce the population, police spokesman Democrito Honorato from the northeastern Brazilian town of Guaranhuns told AFP.

The three defendants, Jorge and Elizabeth Pires da Silveira, both 51, and Bruna da Silva, 25, intended to kill three women per year, police said.

"The details of the actions of the trio, with drawings and explanations of cannibalism, were found in a 50-page book written by Da Silveira, a man with a diploma in education and a black belt in karate," Honorato said.

The book, entitled "The relationships of a schizophrenic," hints at acts of cannibalism.

"The three ate the flesh of their victims to purify their souls," said the police spokesman.

Two bodies were found in the garden of the house occupied by the three defendants, which police believe were those of two women who disappeared recently: Alexandra Falcao, 20, and Gisele da Silva, 30. Both had been seen in the vicinity.

The house of the three suspects was set on fire Thursday by neighbors.

One of the suspects confessed she knew the name of a woman the group killed in 2008, Jessica Pereira, in the nearby city of Olinda.

A five-year-old girl found with the trio is believed to be the daughter of the victim, police said. She was placed under the protection of a juvenile judge to find her a new family.

The group attracted victims "by offering them well-paid babysitting jobs," Honorato said, and they chose victims when "a spirit warned them they were bad people."

Welsey Ferandes, the police official in charge of the case, told reporters the suspects planned to kill another woman in the neighboring town of Lagoa de Ouro. Police did not rule out the possibility there had been other victims.

After families of the victims reported their relatives missing, police were drawn to the suspects when a credit card bill arrived at the home of one of the victims after her death. Security cameras at the shops where the credit card purchases were made showed images of the suspects doing the transactions.

  10. Reply to Navin Johnson

I wonder why you posted this information on the thread about “BRIC - the new emerging world superpower.”

The article said that: they chose victims when "a spirit warned them they were bad people." and they also believed in population growth control and this was their method to reduce the population.

If you are so interested in cannibalism, then why you did not star a new thread regarding that subject?

Since you brought up this subject then give us some more information on how they eat all these people such as they made a barbecue “Rodizio” style, or they eat them raw like “Japanese sushi”?

What they had to drink during this feast? Some blood like a vampire?

I also would like to know what they had for desert with this very special meal.

Navin, do some more research on this subject and report back to us.

Anyway Navin, you found an entertaining story for: Friday, 13 Apr, 2012
