BREXIT

  1. haha. I like the way you drop the reference to piggybacking on the recent US-China trade deal. Dr Liam Fox heads up the department but clearly he is not going to go public on any discussions as that would reduce our leverage negotiating our Brexit.

  2. Cannot sell our shit? oh us the 5th largest economy in the world, 2nd largest in the anti-democratic totalitarian state called the EU. We do alright. 60 years ago members of my family were killed in Normandy defending French sovereignty from the Germans. Today in Normandy a priest is beheaded by ISIS and France cannot do anything as it DOES NOT CONTROL ITS BORDERS. What a wonderful project this EU is. Not long now until FREXIT & NEXIT.

right -- brits are tools for wanting freedom and the ability to vote out politicians who create laws they don't like. Even if they lose a bit of money in the short run, its much safer in the long run.

I wonder how any sentient being (not a crony) could ever think that remotely controlled world govt could be a better answer. Its like they think that politicians will be looking out for them?

Understand here what he is saying about politicians.

Translation: no trade deal discussions. Theresa May made it very clear that while the UK still remains in the EU the UK will respect EU laws in that no member country can negotiate their own trade deals with other non EU countries. So you can choose: Either she and her parliament lies and it will only serve to discredit the trustworthiness of the UK further, or there are no trade deal discussions in place. It's and either or. Very simple.

So are you also one of those lovely nostalgics who embrace Political Correctness by wearing his little red poppy flower pin on his suit each day? No wonder you cannot forgive. How did your members of your family die? Shot or pierced by bayonet? Sorry that I do not find compassion as it was not me nor even my parents nor anyone of my parents generation. It's simply history. Normal humans move on after some time. Some seem to not fully comprehend that concept.

Yes of course, except the many hundreds and thousands who will lose their jobs in London's financial sector over the coming year or two.

It's better to repeat a mistake even once again rather than hating forever and not moving on. It does not have to be either or. Just saying.

  10. We are our history.

Each of us is the sum of all his life experiences, each nation is the sum of its individuals and the world is the sum of its nations.

When I used to teach physiology I used to start each section with the history of research in that area. Without history the present is a mystery. The past is something, not to be forgotten but to be understood and incorporated into the future.

The phrase "move on" is an excuse for those who are too lazy to do that work.
