a) those countries with most people and inhabitants proportionally get more votes in the European Parliament. But even then for many decisions each country, no matter how small has to agree or disagree with important implementations on a national level and has veto power, something the UK as you know has made plenty use of. So yes, as Germany for example has more people than the UK it gets relatively more votes through more EU parliament members than the UK. Seems very fair to me. b) everyone benefits. First the cheap laborer who earns more than before. Then we consumers greatly benefit from unskilled labor because they are relatively cheap and hence produce relatively cheaper products so we in the end can afford that second car in the garage from our discretionary spending that is leftover because other household items are so darn cheap. Look at the US. The American consumer would be dead may years ago without cheap Chinese imports. Those cheap products kept financing the nice lifestyle of most Americans. Then the communities and country also benefit from unskilled labor because there simply are jobs that nobody else wants to touch. Garbage removal, elderly care takers, barista,.... Those jobs would remain unfilled or would earn way higher wages because of demand which in turn would make your coffee or care taker home unaffordable. It is not as black and white as you attempt to paint the picture.
You mean you both feel disenfranchised and disadvantaged. Care to explain why? Cause you were a barista and got your job taken by a cheaper laborer from abroad? Or what is your real gripe?
Boris Johnson is Foreign Secretary: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-36790977 Hilarious. I think the UK is using the Rocky Horror Picture Show as its strategy guide.
naivety at its finest. You say they are fined because the 'put Europe at risk'. You mean the EU not Europe, very different. These mediterranean countries will NEVER pay back what they owe, NEVER, they have previous form on defaulting and it will happen again. The EU dictatorship wants to fine them! The reason for that is it is still in the denial stage, although brexit has pushed some into the anger phase.
lol dude. making up lies? If you read my post i merely posed open questions I didn't state anything. Look if you flood a country that is unproductive and has a distinct inability to manage itself and collect taxes with cheap money you get the illusion of higher living standards but actually you have moved backwards. Yes there are more luxury cars and better transportation but that is an illusion. Its called cognitive dissonance. If someone goes and gets huge bank loans, racks up credit card debt and leases a brand new mercedes does that mean they have a better standard of living? To others who see them driving around in a Merc yes they think he has done well for himself. Ultimately though it is an illusion of wealth though isn't it. If there is no productivity and ability to self manage that person will not have moved forward at all. You could argue successfully that you have saddled yourself with something you cannot afford, a millstone around your neck.
Seconded. Sterling (no pun intended) work! conduit/volpunter, are you ever gonna answer what lies Farage told during the brexit campaign?
Are you talking about the UK here? Asking, because it perfectly fits. A horribly inefficient labor market which is the reason outside labor originally came. And aside financial services a pretty unproductive economy and people having the illusion of high living standards but in reality eating trash in cans from Tesco. Yes you have nice cars driving around in London but the rest drives a rotten Ford. You just perfectly described your own country.
