That's a one shot deal. I suspect that card gets played while Trumps in office. Otherwise, Trump can blame Obamas policies for creating the crash, and by proxy, Hillary. Who stands in his shadow.

S&P on to new highs. Buy the dip. That's my take.

At least you're putting yourself on the same level. Glad that's been established. Are you going to start putting everyone else on ignore?

Britain will be more than fine. Right after Brexit, other countries - even France - rushed to say they wanted a referendum. This will mark the downfall of the EU experiment, and Britain will look swell in hindsight.

France, the Netherlands, Austria, Finland and Hungary ...all on the docket to consider leaving now.

  7. What we know with absolute certainty is that multiculturalism without assimilation and allegiance to the host country is an abject failure.

Yesterday the Dutch Bureau of Statistics published that 80% of immigrants from Iraq, Iran, Somalia and Afghanistan are still on welfare after 10 years. So much for the argument we need these immigrants to support our economy.

  10. Just 2 cents:

I am afraid nowadays most western countries are consumption driven economies! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consumer_economy Backed by strong and smart fiscal policies!

Consuming more is better, because imports are much cheaper than local production. Without risking investment capitals, complex manufacturing facilities/processes, keen competitions worldwide, volatility of supply markets for such as rare-earth metals, environmental pollution hazards, seasonal labour shortages and disputes, opportunity cost of land usage for high value-adding industries such as Google, Silicon Valley, Aerospace, etc.

Hypothetically, there would be a potential that for a country of shrinking population due to negative birth rate constantly, without this kind of inflow of immigrants the country would have to scale down the budget for school class/staff/building, hospital facilities/beds/staff, income from selling lands to build general houses, expenditure for building new infrastructures/roads, etc.

Wealthy immigrants would not need to work, or consume much food/groceries/fruit/etc due to small number and less coking at home. Therefore, number of general retail shops gradually would be much reduced due to population shrinking. Cost of utilities/rates would increase gradually due to less and less users and necessary maintenance/upgrade.

Then the next generation of existing citizens would have less job opportunities. They might need to work anymore, if they can inherit free property from grandparents. When they don't need to work hard for buying or renting living house, they don't even need to work much. Hence no more income taxes from them. They may not even get married or kids!

When the new migrants are keen to work for their living house, they are happy to receive reseanably low rates! Therefore cost of serving food or selling at shops can be kept reasonably low, without dricing high inflation for daily consumer prices! Otherwise, ...

When only wealthy immigrants are allowed, even all newly migrated wealthy immigrants invest new shops, who are going to work for them?

Then the whole economy gets slower and slower. No drive! No dynamics! No competition from new migrants, or even locals! No need to study hard to compete for a uni degree, and no incentive for work since not many jobs or don't need the income because too many cheap vacant houses for them to choose! Considering 2 houses from 2 families of grandparents for each grandson to choose!

It might be possible that the dynamics and economics of immigrants can be practically meaningful to many western countries!
