As some may know, the negotiations between Switzerland and the EU that have gone on for decades recently shiite the bed totally. In May I think. Some articles have framed this as vindication-justification for Britain to finally just pull the pin on Brexit even though there were lots and lots of leading people arguing for just a few more months here and few more there to resolve this and that. The way the EU-Switzerland scenario shows that it really can just go on forever if you dont just force it along at some point. Homey don't have any more time for Brexit talky-talky at some point. France trying to impose French as the new EU language. Other countries revolt and prepare to tell France to go get stuffed. That some fine "union" you have there. Whereupon the Brits were heard to say: "Okay fine, Froggy. Whatever. We won't be there at the EU meetings so if you guys want to break down into small groups and have thirty meetings to discuss it, go for it. It's what you do and what we don't do now."
The harsh reality is the EU is falling to pieces. BREXIT was the spark for other countries to no longer put up with nonsense from Brussels. From the beginning the EU never made sense as a common union -- the economic disparity (north & south) between the countries, and the different policies & objectives make the entire union (as it stands now) doomed for long term failure. The Union started "failing" on xenophobic sentiment (in big part spurred by GRU trolls) triggering Brexit thanks to a Kremlin backed refugee crisis in Syria. All of this over Putin's fears of American backed NATO's missile defense system & ending up like Gaddafi. You can try to sugarcoat racism as you do, those are the facts.
The refuge crisis has nothing to do with why the EU will fail in the long run. It was doomed to fail from the day it was created.
