Then we're Jets brothers. I know what you mean. I'm not old enough to remember their super bowl victory but here's what I remember. I was at Shea when they rallied from 28-0 against buffalo in the wild card game only to have Todd throw a game ending interception in the end zone as they were going for the lead. I watched the mud bowl against Miami. Suffered through countless bad drafts like Blair Thomas and Ken O'brien. Seen countless immobile quarterbacks. Countless horrible coaching culminating with Kotite after suffering through Walt Michaels and Joe "must go" Walton. I got my hopes up when Tuna came, only to have my heart broken again when Elway completed the bomb pass to help bring the Broncos back. Then another horrible coach, Herm "I don't understand clock management" Edwards. I've seen it all. They wanted Favre in the 2nd round in 1991 but got Browning Nagle instead. Now 17 years later, they got their man. When Mangini went up to NE in 2006 and won, I felt the tide turing. the curse lifting. Last year was a throw out, every jets fan knows that. Now they have a great offensive line. They are coming together. Coles and Cotchery can get the job done. Jones will do better with the better offensive line. This is their year. When they beat NE on 9/14, you'll see that the curse of the Jets is over.
That comment is open for debate... I think Jamal Lewis, Anderson and others might think otherwise on the Browns. Throw Kellen Winslow into the mix and it's just not even fair.
I had the strangest feeling last night when Aaron Rodgers took the field, I was pulling for him...I guess I'm a Packer fan first, I kinda forgot about all the Favre stuff. The King is dead, Long live the King. Go Pack!
he looked good...a couple dropped passes too,,,,MY biggest fear is if the jets were to start 0 -2 or 3 would Brett change his mind and want to just leave and the Jets look like the falcons of last year???
They'll be fine, Brett's acquisition created a lot of energy, they've just got to channel it in the right direction.
The Jets receivers better know they are going to be expected to come back on short passes, turn the wrong way on inside passes that were actually outside, but Favre misfired, break off an out and go long when Favre launches a duck to the defense, etc.. Favre had announcers blaming receivers for his mistakes all the time, and Favre started to buy into and do the same thing too often the last 4-5 years. He also had numerous plays made by the receiving corps that could have easily gone wrong. Hey, even the day he played after his Dad died he through a few that were just skyballs that the recs. made a catch, still a great game, but he had a lot of help not credited. Again, I still love the guy, wish he was with the Pack, or retired, but my health will be better with him on another team, and a lot of cardiologists in WI will be retiring by midseason or heading to NY.
everyone will be watching the JETS! but they will need a bigger jock to hold his obviously bigger balls i'll be watching just to see him stumble on that oversized nutsack
