He marks up his charts the same way SMB is teaching to do. They allow remote traders, so that's why I asked.

I was at Assent (RIP). . . I used to just do OPG and MOC, with some pairs trading, and news plays. I know there must be some still making money in these strategies, but they stopped working for me awhile ago. . . So over the years, I have mostly migrated to trading Earnings stocks.

Yeah, both Brett Steenbarger and SMB emphasize the importance of reviewing past trades. I've done this is the past, but nothing to the degree they suggest. Awhile I ago I came upon one SMB traders trade and was really impressed with his notes. One it he asked and answered about 20 questions, which really helped me see his thinking in the trade. Often times we come upon some chart someone posted and think 'Ok, so what? You made $10k in that trade. Good for you, but it does little for me after the fact.' Anyhow, I figure I would also start making up some charts that I either wanted to remember so I won't miss the setup up in the future, or to help me highlight some of me weakness that I need to work on.

Don't get me wrong, I make money. I have several strategies that are nearly automated that require almost no personal trade management or oversight from me. And then I have swing trading account that is also fairly easy to manage.

But my purpose of posting this journal is basically twofold 1) try to improve my intraday discretionary trading 2) Network with other traders. I have seen a lot of changes in trading over the years, and realize that profitable strategies come and go.

I think journaling could be very useful for discretionary trading. It will hopefully help reinforce the positives and highlight some issues that I need to work on.

I know I'm far from the brightest person out there, but I have been living off of it for over ten years. On the other hand, I know a lot of really smart guys who have tried and failed miserably at trading. So I must be doing something right.

Yeah, I spend last Sunday in the ER and hadn't slept for almost 24 hrs. It has taken me a few days to get over that. Thank fully going to the ER isn't a regular event.
