Wishing death on someone is a bit extreme.

  4. Well we have theories that he is dying, also theories that he is faking it.

Dr. Fat Slobb weighs in. Helpful as always. Or not.

If fat cells were brain cells, he would be a genius. Unfortunately they are not.

  5. Sympathy from whom? Faking it gets him no sympathy at all, except from his base. Too many others close to him are sick too. No, the only conspiracy I see blooming is the, he's all good, just quietly working in his office. That ain't Trump, they couldn't keep him this quiet. He's sick.

Notre Dame president, who was at the SCOTUS announcement ceremony on Saturday, without a mask, has now tested positive for COVID

University of Notre Dame President Rev. John I. Jenkins tested positive for the coronavirus on Friday, according to a letter to students.

The letter to the Notre Dame campus read:

During self-quarantine this week, University of Notre Dame President Rev. John I. Jenkins, CSC, learned that a colleague with whom he has been in regular contact tested positive for COVID-19. Fr Jenkins was tested and found to be positive for COVID-19 too. As a result, he is entering an extended period of isolation as indicated by University medical personnel and county health officials. “My symptoms are mild and I will continue work from home,” Fr. Jenkins said. “The positive test is a good reminder for me and perhaps for all of how vigilant we need to be.

The president sent a letter on Monday to the campus community, apologizing for not wearing a mask and social distancing during Judge Amy Coney Barrett's Supreme Court Justice nomination ceremony at the White House.

Photos and videos showing Jenkins not wearing a mask and shaking hands with others at the event Saturday surfaced on social media, prompting criticism on social media.

In his letter sent to students, staff and faculty Monday evening, Jenkins said he believed it was important to represent Notre Dame at the ceremony as Barrett attended Notre Dame Law School and is a professor at the university.

Jenkins explained that when he arrived at the White House, he and others underwent a rapid COVID-19 test, and once they had all tested negative, they were told it was safe to remove their masks.

"I failed to lead by example, at a time when I’ve asked everyone else in the Notre Dame community to do so," he stated. "I especially regret my mistake in light of the sacrifices made on a daily basis by many, particularly our students, in adjusting their lives to observe our health protocols."

After returning to campus, Jenkins said he consulted the Notre Dame Wellness Center, and out of an abundance of caution and in accordance with university protocols, he decided to quarantine.

  9. Apart from photo ops, when is he ever in the office? Something doesn’t add up.

  10. I heard that Mr. Trump is taking either mono or polyclonal antibodies as part of his treatment (antibodies cultured in a lab versus from recovery plasma). This is very much experimental even though the early results (from Regeneron I think) have looked extremely good but are not on track to be approved until well into next year.

You can see where this is headed. Trump is more or less out on the front lines and if it works he will be arguing for early approval, very early and he will be in a good position to argue that it is something he believes in because he put his own skin in the game.

Of course, if it does not work out well and he still becomes severely ill, well then that will not work, eh.

Just as an aside the regeneron monoclonal antibody treatment is being proposed both as a treatment and as a quasi-vaccine because loading a person up with antibodies helps with recovery but it also fends off infection- or at least until longer acting vaccines can be approved. I think the regeneron antibody treatment is an IV thing rather than an injection. So those who are speculating that because he has not been tweeting he must be in the morgue should take into account that he probably has been getting treatment and discussing alternatives today as well.

He might get remsdesivir too but that is just speculation at this point. Remdes does a little sumpin-sumpin early on but is not all that impressive- my view.

    Interesting times.
