I haven't followed this investigation very closely, but it appears there is certainly a group that will be satisfied with nothing less than proof that Bush and the Saudi's conspired somehow to produce 9/11. If no proof is forthcoming, why, that is just proof there was a conspiracy to hide it all! So probably the administration is doing the right thing to tell this commission to finish up and shut down, rather than humor the conspiracy nuts. I do think they need to explain the decision to let OBL relatives and other Saudi VIP's to leave the country whne all flights were grounded, and they were obvious targets of investigation. That has a certain unsavory Clinton aroma to it.
Mackie, Stay away from those Mo Dowd columns. You're losing your ability to distinguish fact from fiction. Go over to www.anncoulter.org and read several months of her commentary and that should straighten you out.
quote from msn: AFL-CIO President John Sweeney called Kerry a friend of the working man as he urged labor to stand with one candidate. The AFL-CIO, composed of 64 unions representing more than 13 million U.S. workers, is planning an unprecedented effort to mobilize their members to vote for Kerry. Republicans: cowards, liars, fiscally irresponsible selfish pigs that give capitalism a bad name. anncoulter: a hair dew and a lot religion based logic.
Bush is looking weak on most issues, so what do you see the right doing? Attacking ferocioulsy on the gay marriage issue. I tuned in Rush today, listened to him spew for a few minutes about gay marriage. He was really on roll; had that really annoying whine he gets and was just beside himself. I tuned in again a couple of hours later and he was STILL ranting about it. I don't know if he took a break or just kept that up for most of his show, but it appears the right wingers feel they have a great issue that can help them distract people from the more serious problems and that can be useful for attacking Dems. The frigging idiots in SF and Mass. are just shooting themselves in the foot, by handing such a useful issue to the Repubs at this time. We'll see how it plays out, but obviously Rush believed it was going to play well. I'm sure the policitcal operatives in the Bush administration are working this hard. m
