This whole situation does feel like it is being downplayed. Remember the banking problems and how long it took for them to be properly priced into the markets? Remember the S&P actually rallied initially for a few months to touch a new all time high before starting its descent. Personally I feel we might get something similar in the yen, with a contrarian push to new highs, followed by a large scale decline over the next year or two at least.
guys lets leave the blame game for another day, clearly there have been major mistakes here, there are parallels with the financial crisis, BP spill i.e. humans cutting a few corners here and there.. but it's easy to get emotional at a time like this, we all want the same ending, so let's save that important discussion for another day (or a new thread) I think there's some good info coming out of this thread
Oh, Cyborg is way too far gone to understand that. Guy isn't even in left field. He's off in the parking lot packing his crack pipe and crying because someone made fun of his dad.
Just curious at what point do you think there will be a Breach of Containment When 2 remaining reactors blow up (and they will) Or will you still claim everything is fine Do you believe market went up from open because there is no problem or because FED stepped in. I think you are a moron.
There has already been a partial breach of containment. The torus underneath the reactor of unit #2 has a whole in it. Radiation is leaking out of the place. What's your point? Put those executives in there and have them take care of their shit instead of some poor guy who didn't have a say in any decisions.
Exactly! Thinking the same thing. It's a never ending cycle because that's just the way things work . Again..... Seems like Japan's taking one for the team while we bitch and play arm-chair quarterback. Where's the help for these guys? Why are we so complacent? Right now, we're just going to play the "blame game" and then when it's all over tell them how stupid they are and how we would have done things different (which is pure bullshit). Apparently we're too obsessed with Twitter and Facebook to really care about our fellow man.
My comment on kamakazi workers wasn't right. I apologize. My point is some people still don't believe breach of containment happened even though it is clear that it did.
Oh, there's a breach alright. None of us debate that. here's what I'm upset about and maybe I gave you the wrong impression. We're so worried about something that HASN'T happened yet, that we aren't taking the time to help our fellow man with something that IS happening and that they obviously need help with. Japan's getting their asses reamed, there's 50-70 SELFLESS guys that are probably going to die when they leave that plant, meanwhile all we're doing is worrying about when the next shipment of potassium iodine is coming in, just in case that shit makes it this way. When they're done dying (THUS preventing anything from happening to us) we can resume our normal lives as if nothing ever happened. Apparently society as a whole is done caring about anyone else. People are pissed about nuclear fallout and Japan for letting this happen? In case they forgot, japan got hit with a 9.0 earthquake and then a Tsunami (which swept away the diesel generators). None of this is their fault.
you'd still need electricity to run pumps to circulate the water. stagnant water isn't enough to cool the fuel rods
