roc, thanks for the color. i'm new to elitetrader and had heard there were some thoughtful posts and analyses on the site. so it's disappointing to see material from folks who speak in "lol!!" terms (isn't that what teenagers and aol users do?) rather than substantive contributions. i've found vic's site edifying, literate and well crafted, and wonder if trendmo offers anything of comparable value free to the public (anything beyond "lol!!", that is). and i don't quite understand what the issue is with "call for monday" (the site seems to say just that). best, rod.
I'd bet five hundred bucks this is yet another surfer iteration. Style, tone and content are 95% similar to previous posts on this very thread, not to mention the vacuous hand waving. Moderators, what's the deal?
you are ON ! RK is not me. mods can confirm this easily. you can send the $$ to my paypal account...... surfer
Right. Over the top and utterly transparent. Fits your style perfectly, Rodney King... er, Fat-Tail Cat... er, Hank Rollins... er, Black Moses... er, guy who has been booted from elite trader before for illegal promotion under multiple aliases... Yeah, that's it.
The post count's the thing. Evidently, it is perfectly acceptable to be an asshole with countless aliases. However, it is unacceptable to identify and accurately describe such salient attributes in others, no matter how preposterous they may be. Allow me to provide you with a hypothetical example presented solely for illustrative purposes. It would be considered bad form for me to openly describe surfer as an asshole, even though both he and I know that is exactly what he is. Therefore, we must resort to nuanced understatement. But we both know what's what.
It was a simple LOL with a grain of salt. VN's whole web site is dedicated to the fine art of counting (among other things of course). He was just promoting himself as 'probably the best trader in the world' according to himself based on stats and returns. Yet, he goes out of his usual coolheaded way and decides uncharacteristically to enter the divine world of predictions and make a bold (for the record) market call. Of course, it goes wrong and then again, he goes against his own preached principles and tries to change his stats by removing a 'bad data item' from his own data set!!!! I wonder whether he put his money where his stats were on Monday. If so, maybe, there aint' much left of it after Monday's run. I wonder. Happy trading 3 posts man.
