SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) - Broadcom reports huge jump in third-quarter profit Broadcom Corp. (BRCM) on Tuesday reported third-quarter net profit of $164.9 million, or 31 cents a share, compared with a net profit of $27.8 million, or 5 cents a share, for the year-earlier period. Revenue was $1.3 billion, up from $950 million for the same period last year. Analysts expected Broadcom to report earnings of 44 cents a share, on revenue of $1.27 billion, according to a consensus survey by FactSet Research.
