https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/05/health/coronavirus-masks-who.html They did NOT endorse the wearing of face mask until the very last minute even after some world leaders publicly endorsing them. And for the leaders of countries that decide to replace their own leadership initiative and independent thinking with bullcrap from WHO to mask (pun intended) their own incompetence, they just ran with whatever garbage WHO spews out. So WHO is really not that blameless.
Know there trying to squirm there way out of the airborne issue, been known about for months posted on here by Maxinger I think?? but they denied and denied, this news is a total game changer. If your lockdown allows people to go inside shops, there spreading it and your lockdown is worthless, the last 14weeks in the UK have been worthless as you can see in the chart.
Flu and colds have approved treatments while the flu itself has a vaccine... In a nutshell, Covid-19 has neither. Here's a theory to explore... If large numbers of the population needs to be infected to achieve herd immunity... Why hasn't herd immunity developed for the Flu or even the common cold ? Answer - Too many mutated strains every few years. Both have a faster recovery in comparison to infection with Covid-19. Thus, not worth rolling the dice with the lives of those you're suppose to be protecting. As soon as an approved treatment or vaccine becomes available, one that's cheap / affordable... Governments will be back at the table to come up with a better Pandemic plan to deal with the next Pandemic (they do come every 10 - 20 years now)...assuming the next leader and his administration take the current new Pandemic plan serious enough so that there's no need to do another lockdown when the next Pandemic shows up. Saving global economies trillions of dollars via just being prepared....no more lockdowns. On another note - Pharmaceutical companies will game Covid-19 to make themselves rich...some politicians will too because Covid-19 is low hanging fruit to difficult to resist. A lot of these companies have ties to the U.S. and Brazil. https://theintercept.com/2020/05/07/coronavirus-vaccine-drug-company-monopolies-brazil/ https://theintercept.com/2020/03/13/big-pharma-drug-pricing-coronavirus-profits/ #Gilead wrbtrader
Ok, so the buck stops with the WHO when it comes to American health strategies? That’s Trumps platform, the buck never stops with him. There is always someone to blame. I’m only referring to OUR handling of the coronavirus. Our leaders handling of it and where the blame has to stop at. I get it though.
But they where until recently going on WHO's recommendation, because WHO where supposed to be the expert, but months back Trump defunded WHO. There is still not much you can do, to stop a virus when it's in that much of the population, so it's not trumps fault, blame WHO for not stopping travel in / out of China early on, would of been worth paying China a few trillion to keep it there until it 100% burnt out.
You'll be shocked at what a leader can do to inspire the people to be socially responsible or not to do (socially irresponsible) via simple words / simple actions like "wearing a mask" instead of playing forest fire fighter trying to put out flare ups. Yet, the WHO were slow to react in the beginning but the world leaders were even slower to react...continue to do so now that we're in July. Most likely, the world leaders will be doing the same as a possible 2nd wave approaches. All you can do is protect yourself / your family because you can not expect any guidance from leaders that are ignorant. On the flip side, just be glad its just a global health crisis and not an actual war (military) with the same leaders in charge. wrbtrader
None of that matters, get upto date on the news. Scientists for months have been saying Airborne inside shops, so in a shop with aircon / heaters it's everywhere, someones had it last hour or so, everyone gets it that visits after mask or no mask. That's why lockdown in the UK made zero difference, people still going into shops, where it was spreading in the first place, so zero change. If WHO wasn't a bunch of muppets didn't lie about this, closed all shops and got the staff to run around and fetch your order from outside or delivery's only, then with the outside social distancing you could of stopped short of everyone getting it. Everyone in the UK pretty much has it so too late, with the 3 week lag too late in the US, if they take on the new info. Maxinger I think posted this months ago! Yep Global War with this level of idiocy extinction level event, nukes would fly.
Sorry...I'm not up to date on the U.K. and their problems. Yet, I do know within a few days after the WHO announced it was a Pandemic...two of my favourite stores change their air filters / ac to prevent airborne diseases. Similar reaction to what I remember many businesses did with their cooling towers, water heaters during the Legionaire Disease Outbreaks although it was not a Pandemic...it was instead an Epidemic. By the way, the WHO can not close any shops Instead, its up to the world leaders to react properly to what's being said by the WHO. Some leaders will listen and follow the guidance of their own health experts while other leaders will choose to ignore it / downplay it. Yet, if you're going to wait around for the WHO to tell you what to do when a Pandemic is declared...big mistake. Sadly, this will happen again within the next 10 - 20 years...countries and citizens will not be prepared. Many world leaders that are negative on the WHO...those same leaders ignored their own countries Pandemic preparedness plans. Seriously, if they and their citizens are negative about the WHO...why would the same people then not get their own healthcare system up to date for any Pandemic / Epidemic and then not get their citizens prepare for such ??? The Airborne, if you allowed into a shop with heating / aircon running, it's going to spread, so a lockdown, which does not prevent this is just a waste of space and time and money. All the countries that have short term beaten it have stopped entrance into shops. ( give them time to think about this new update and realise ohhhh ) WHO can't close shops or make rules, but there supposed to be smart and advise what to do, they've totally cocked up a lot of things. Black Plague cases found in China, make Covid look like childs play if that gets out. Or they'll remember Covid as a nothing and ignore the next 1 until it's too late, even worse.
By the way, I still don't know where this plague comparison keeps coming into play. I haven't come across any medical articles / journals using it in comparison with Covid-19. In fact, I haven't seen any world leaders use the word plague / covid-19 in the same sentence. In contrast, I've seen them use it often in comparison to SARS. On the flip side, I have seen an article about the re-emergence of a few cases of the Plague in China but that was only within the past week. https://www.contagionlive.com/news/china-confirms-case-of-bubonic-plague Yet, I have seen the word Plague / Covid-19 used here at ET and on Twitter in the same sentence since the beginning of April by people not medical professionals. Reminder, Covid-19 is still new..very new. It's not like the flu that's been around long before we were born. Simply, whatever you hear today...may change tomorrow. Essentially, they are still learning about Covid-19 and you would need to be an imbecile to expect guidance from day one about its spread route. I myself remember SARS and had my own bout in the hospital in 2016 with another disease that almost killed me. As soon as I heard about the first cases in the U.S. involving Covid-19...I went and got out my boxes of medical face masks and N95s. Sent a few box to relatives around the world and the rest stayed here with me and my kids / girlfriend...she then shared her box with a few co-workers at her hospital. Simply, I was not going to make the same mistake I did in 2016. The ignorance is not what / how did Covid-19 happen and what to do as soon as we realize what was going on. In contrast, the ignorance involves how are they reacting today (right now) with the limited information they've discover so far about Covid-19. P.S. Seriously, save a box of medical face masks...put it away in your closet...somewhere safe. The next Pandemic will be just as confusing and hopefully we won't be with leaders just as ignorant. Also, we'll be much older and more vulnerable. wrbtrader
