I'm on day 8 waiting for the results of my nasal swab test results being processed by LabCorp which is I think doing a significant percentage of our testing in the U.S. I don't disagree with anything you're saying (and btw troll boy @Turveyd doesn't actually listen to the answers to any of the "questions" he asks that he thinks are such gotchas because that's not the troll way). But I think it's an underreported fact that testing is so far behind at the moment. My doctor told me that I'd either have a full blown case or be asymptomatic and over it within 10 days. It took 7 days for the person who I was exposed to to get their positive results back so we're at 17 days now from my first exposure. Which all points to the idea that testing at this point is useful only for large scale epidemiology tracking purposes, it can't provide any benefits to individuals with those timelines. Even to the point that it's nearly worthless for informing someone who really cares to self quarantine. And even for large scale tracking purposes, all the data we're seeing today is at least a week old, something that no one appears to be talking about.
I already have healthcare in Europe (France)...I was born there and own a business there. I just don't live there full time. Yet, I don't know the status of why others from the U.S. would go there during a Pandemic unless they're essential workers (Europe needs them there), visiting relatives / loved ones that are sick, job related but not an essential worker or something else. If I had an emergency and I needed to get back to France...I will only be using my French passport. Simply, it doesn't concern me nor apply to me about Europe shutting their borders to U.S. but I'm glad they did that consider Other than that, I'm cozy and enjoying being lockdown here in Québec, Canada although I've gotten use to not travelling as much for a few years prior to the Pandemic but wanted 2020 to be a breakout year of travel in which I'll get back into a routine of moving around to my homes / seeing my relatives. No worries here...working out, eating healthy, doing the same with my kids and helping them to improve their English conversation skills so that they don't get behind when school (online or in person) re-opens for the fall Etape. As stated to you in another thread...Europe shutting their doors to the U.S. is just like the Scandinavian countries shutting their doors to Sweden... U.S. has a problem with social irresponsible behaviour by its citizens and leaders refusing to acknowledge the seriousness of Covid-19 in the face of the contradiction of giving out checks to its citizens during a lockdown...a lockdown that's also a contradiction to the lack of leadership by the White House. Europe wants no part of that...rightfully so. Sweden has a herd immunity attempt with a healthcare system not ready or not prepare for such an attempt to herd immunity.... Scandinavian countries wants no part of that...rightfully so. Karma is a bitch Both of these countries (U.S. and Sweden) also have not dealt with the ventilation system / air filters at business and public indoor places. The same in Brazil. Simply, its not talked about much. Most homes also have a air filtration / circulation problem in most of the world especially in smaller city living dwellings. Thus, don't want this to be that I'm picking on the U.S. and Brazil. Now that its the summer with duration of hot weather...its only going to get more nastier in reaction to Covid-19 and I'm not talking about infection / death rates. For example, forest fires are at record levels. In some countries...2 - 3x above normal by this time of the year. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/mont...-only-getting-worse-researcher-says-1.5638168 wrbtrader
Normal people that can't afford health care but can afford a plane ticket, not rich with multiple houses people. Gym's opening soon, finally, the Airborne news has made everything kinda a waste of time and energy, cues and social distancing inside shops a waste of time all along so yeah normality. About 10K job cuts announced over 3 large companies early, so not all roses. Sweden have Herd and beyond not posted any deaths since 2nd July, so I'd guess there either not doing so bad or the person that posts the deaths died ( JOKE ) https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/sweden Norway, PM has already stated she wishes she'd of done Sweden way, so will do when someone next brings the virus into that country no doubt. Remember, Airborne, changes it, lockdown to work has to be, you literally can't leave your house anything below that like over here, is a waste of energy, so if you've got a lockdown and it's not that hard, forget about it.
That gets into a lot about a healthcare system not properly prepared for Covid-19 today in comparison to prior situations like SARS. Governments that are listening to their health officials and/or leaders sees the problem...they needed to step in and make it a national (provincial) mandate. If not, at least get involved to ensure all cities are on the same page and ensure there's national storage readiness of testing supplies / PPE and other needed equipment to get a head start on a Pandemic whenever its declared. Strongly agree about what testing is really being used for...large scale epidemiology tracking purposes. The only benefit for the public is that people should be self quarantine while waiting for their test results... They did a survey I think in Toronto...most do not self-quarantine after getting tested and waiting for their test results except for those returning back from travelling out of the country (essential worker). wrbtrader
Your still trying to fight something you can't see, Sweden rolled over and accepted it 1/3rd the deaths US ( finished stated like NYC ) has fighting it as they put there resources into saving people not fighting it. Sweden zero deaths since 2nd July that's a week!
Remember a key thing about Pandemics involving gyms... Jobs lost are quickly replaced via jobs in other industries that deals with gyms / fitness. Stores even online can't keep exercise equipment on their shelves...its flying out the door sort'uv speak. Businesses 5 - 10x their normal profits and now with better internet services the past 10 years... Online fitness classes are surging to record levels by those that use to visit a gym. As stated to you before in another thread, in South France, near my home there were 2 new bike shops. Yesterday, a relative called me tell me that the local fitness center has now moved online with 3 new fitness instructors to keep up with the demand. Sweden does not have herd immunity. Their government and top epidemiologist stated that if/when such is achieved...they will make such an announcement. It has nothing to do with statistical data being sent to the worldmeters.info Instead, just follow Sweden's news sources. Some countries have been having problems or intentionally not sending in their statistics because it has gotten too bad (embarrassing) while others decided to move from daily updates to weekly or monthly updates without telling the public. wrbtrader
Can't rule out sweden just not posting, but deaths where very low and no other way that would happen other than Herd. But the AntiBody tests don't work, you need T-Cel tests news out from France I think it was backing what I've been saying up. Follow Prof Karol Sikora on twitter, he's been researching T-Cel immunity for some time.
I'm not fighting anything...I don't live in Sweden. Also, any illness to do with the body on a microscopic level...you can't see it until it manifest itself into other things that can be viewable (e.g. Measles, Cancer, Pneumonia, Kidney problems, heart problems). Seriously, don't use that argument with your doctor, nurse, medical professional or anyone with a degree in biological sciences... Your still trying to fight something you can't see They will laugh at you as I am now. wrbtrader
They will announce it and celebrate it if/when such is achieved. Such an achievement will be heard (pun intended) around the world and on social media. There really is no need to think about it nor be concerned until such happens unless you plan to move to Sweden before such. wrbtrader
Presume your French speaking English second language ?? No point into trying to eradicate the virus, it's too far spread and not really required.
