Not exactly. GTS is right I think. Its the methane that is pressurizing the leak. The goal of the relief wells, according to the experts, is to bleed off the methane and thus bring the pressure down. It should work quite nicely, but that's not certain of course. We won't know until those relief wells are brought in.

  2. That seep is two miles away. Chances are it has nothing to do with the BP well. Funny no one noticed it before however.

  3. The Human race is doomed. Once the entire ocean is destroyed, it will not take long for its effects to be felt elsewhere.

Young kids today are going to grow up in a shitty world.

  4. Is it that hard to find 1000 plumbers to fix a leak. I guess So. They are looking for Bill Gates or someone rich to clog the pipe with a big name. They need experienced plumbing specialists to fix the leak. Its not simple but If they Made several interlocking pipes and stacked them daily until they reached the top would.nt that make sense. They should just have a reality show and daily have a new company besides them fix the leak.

In my experience when you cant fix the leak you smash down the pipe with a hammer and problem is solved. Build a new tower closer to the source and make a new hole before the damaged leak and relieve the pressure and slow the spill. Jimmy the neigborhood plumber should be running BP.

The worst is yet to come. Watch the Short Interest on BP over the next month.

  5. I have had a hard time believing that BP will shut down the well with relief wells and gunking them up from below when there is sooooo much money laying there. Indeed I think the gov is in on a conspiracy. All along there has been only one way to monetize this well... that is to set up like you are going to use the relief well and then at the last minute say she's going to blow it's too dangerous open the spiggett.

The seal on this cap looks to the naked eye to be quite tight. They could pump to the surface and right into barges or by pipe out to another platform and offload there. The only politically feasible solution is too make this saving of the oil look like it must be done to prevent further horror. Thus the scary unstable well conditions reported today.

When reporters later poke around it will be revealed 1/3 of all funds will be going to disaster relief until cleanup complete , 1/3 annually to the local states involved leaving BP with 1/3rd initially and eventually 2/3rds of a sizable well.

That's how I see this playing out. The US drags BP along using them to clean up and fix the economies of the South. Yes they should of bombed it in initially like Russia does. Why didn't they?~ stoney

I guess there must be a vast conspiracy to cover-up the truth since these leaks indicate the end of the world and they don't want to alarm the public:

    http://www.nasdaq.com/aspx/stock-ma...o-indication-that-leak-on-well-is-significant

US Government: No Indication That Leak On Well Is Significant

"During seismic testing and sonar analysis, responders also found a leak on the sea floor surface about 3 kilometers from the well but it is believed to be unrelated to the well cap, Allen said. "

Could the new leak be sprung from the increased pressures created underground by capping the horizon leak? I am not a geologist but this is serious cause for concern. If the new leak isn't from an old poorly sealed well, it will be impossible to stop. Seal one leak create another? Things aren't looking good here.

This spill is bad but the oceans digest a lot of oil.
It's just that we are having to deal with it in our backyard for a change.

BP and the Government aren't giving us the full facts nor the full story. I have this nagging feeling that there is something really big (beyond what we know) that they aren't telling us. Fess up guys. We have a right to know.
