Just got off the phone with a bud that currently has 2 kids in Div 1 schools on athletic scholarships.... he said both of them, and their teams.... are boycotting Nike. Totally serious.
Now he's a Trumpy granted, but his kids think for themselves.
It matters not. As I told Max... NKE is on the DOW... its gonna move with the DOW pretty much.
Their quarter just ended Friday and ER is on the 25th so it won't reflect any possible damage.
We'll see in December.... odds are this too will pass.

  6. They are still struggling from being exposed as a major exploiter of child labor but they know that their iphone/twitterhead customers have the attention span and memory of a hummingbird with ADHC. So this little crappernick episode will erase their little floppy disk memories and write over it with something that lets them regain the moral high ground and profit from it.

They know that they will take a short term hit but that Nike will become the anti-trump running shoe and there is a big market for that. Doesnt mean their little plan will be successful but they are not doing this because they are Mother Theresa.

No. Nike is doing their job and trying to maximize shareholder value. They believe by supporting their professional athletes and catering to millennial they will earn more money. The stock sold off yesterday but I think Nike is looking to play the long game.

The fact that the liberals have all the media, a coffee chain, and a shoe company should make you think that your ideas are not that of the majority. Kind of like if you were an anti-Semite and then got upset that businesses don’t support your beliefs.

Valid point made in article in Forbes.

Actually, Nike is just being Nike here.

When Tiger Woods went through his sex scandal in 2009 that led to his divorce, Gatorade, Pepsi and AT&T dropped their endorsements with him, but Nike remained. Nike also stayed loyal to Woods around Memorial Day Weekend 2017 after he got a DUI. Kobe Bryant is somewhere nodding, because he watched McDonald's, Nutella and others cut him loose in 2003 when his rape case in Colorado was settled out of court, but Nike shrugged.

You could say Nike officials were more concerned with benefiting from Woods and Bryant in the long run than flashing their principles at that moment. You also could say the same about Nike officials regarding Kaepernick.

All that being said, Kaepernick is no Tiger or Kobe.
