  1. the z8 is cool looking, the z3 is ok looking, the z4 is down right ugly ! too many angles, etc.

One of my friends has a Z4 2.5 and I think it's a good car. About a month ago, I drove the crap out of it for a week straight and I was quite impressed. The handling was great and the acceleration was decent. It felt real solid. I really liked the sound system too, especially since the systems in convertibles typically are pretty bad.

I'm sure the 3.0 is even more impressive.

Boxsters are chic cars IMHO. They are all over Orlando and I hardly ever see a guy driving one. I'm not a Porshce fan at all. Their shape just doesn't do anything for me.

Funny you mentioned that. Because I feed mine a steady diet of ZO6's. :D

  5. Yup, that's the real deal!! Sweet ride Baron! The Viper has no competition in flat out power. Unless you go for the cars that cost more than a nice house!!

Love my Z4..like the one you drove. 2.5 with sport package.

I NEEDED a convertible. And the Z4 is (I believe) the most rigid convertible made. Incredibly solid. Can't make it shake or rattle if you try. Not a squeak. Nothing but the sounds you want to hear.

The 3 liter is definitely faster, but my racing days are way behind me. And besides, I got it when my teenage son was still home. Now my stepson is around. So I almost wish it had a 2 cylinder motor:mad: I'm driving his Xterra every time he has a date.

    Peace,
    :)RS

grow up and get an Aston Martin. My 1999 DB7 is not only a joy to drive but a real piece of art. Perhaps the most beautiful car ever conceived. And you can tell that i am 100% objective about this :D I plan to keep it as long as I live.

  7. Yup, no nicer looking car on the road. Maybe a few "equals" (Ferrari, Maseratti).

And for that kind of dough, I'd keep it as long as I lived too:)

Every time I see one, I wonder how it can be 100 times nicer than the Jaguar. But it just is!!

    Peace, and happy motoring,
    :)RS

  8. New cars Americans love most

J.D. Power's Apeal study ranks new cars by how much owners love looking at them and driving them.

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Americans really love Germans. At least German car companies.

Porsche, BMW and Volkswagen top the J.D. Power 2003 APEAL Corporate Index Ranking for car companies overall. APEAL stands for Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout.

The results are based in responses from 102,975 new-vehicle owners in eight categories of vehicle performance and design. Vehicles, carmakers and brands were rated on a 1,000-point scale. The average brand received 850 points overall. Porsche received 903, BMW 898 and VW 871.

Toyota's Lexus brand topped the nameplate ranking with 909 points. Porsche's 903 made it second on that list. (Since Porsche doesn't make any other brands, its corporate and nameplate score were identical.) The BMW brand was third with 901 points.

Lexus vehicles also came out at the top of three different vehicle-class lists, more than any other brand.

The Lexus LS 430 was the highest-rated premium luxury car, beating the Mercedes SL-Class and BMW 7-series. The 2004 Lexus RX330 topped the list of luxury SUVs, followed by the Lexus GX 470 and Land Rover Range Rover. Among mid-level luxury cars, the Lexus GS 300/GS 430 was tops, followed by the Jaguar S-type and Mercedes-Benz E-class.

The 2004 Toyota Sienna was the most beloved minivan in the survey -- followed by the Honda Odyssey and Chrysler Town & Country -- giving Japan's Toyota Motor Sales a total of four survey-topping vehicles.

No Porsche car ranked at the top of a segment, but the Porsche 911 tied for second place among premium sports cars with the Chevrolet Corvette. The BMW Z4 was the top car in that segment. (The Porsche Cayenne SUV was not ranked because not enough responses were collected from either 2003 or 2004 Cayennes.)

  9. of those 2 cars, i like the Z4 better (looks).

while i'm at it, there's some car i think looks pretty good but i have no idea what it is. it is generally similar to this type of car. the back of it is VERY angular; the back is almost like a rectangle. no, i'm not planning on buying one; just wondering what it is...
