  1. You stand by your lies.
I expected nothing less of you.

You cannot prove that Kleck has any affiliation with
the NRA or any pro gun organization.

    Go away LIAR.

I don't think I said anything about banning anything. You're misunderstanding my post. RESPONSIBILITY is the operating word here. Parents raising their children to differentiate between right and wrong, fantasy and reality. Corporations and governments taking responsibility for their actions.

You can't make a sweeping statement based on your outcome. Good for you that you turned out to be a decent human being who is not influenced by the entertainment industry. Others are not so fortunate. If you can honestly say in your heart that certain types of movies or music don't influence generations of youngsters then I don't know what to say. I don't know of any other mediums that influence young people more than those two.

You should open your eyes. Your 1st amendment right doesn't trump MY right to a peaceful and productive life.

We already know that the book is based on extrapolated data, not actual hard statistics - we know that from YOUR cut and paste.

So I'll ask again, can I buy the book through the NRA?

It's a simple question, why won't you answer it?

  4. And what is your point?

Most, if not all, gun studies are based on extrapolated data.
    Thats what statistics are for.

    Are you THAT clueless?

You take a sample.... you calculate the possible
statistical error, and your publish your numbers.

    So again... whats your point?
Your implying the data is not valid because its extrapolated.
Sorry...but nearly all polls im aware of DO NOT poll
EVERY SINGLE CITIZEN in this country.
They take a sample and correctly extrapolate with a degree of error.
Your really scratching rock bottom here.

As for the book being available via the NRA, I just checked
their website and was unable to find it.
Maybe you should go check for yourself and report back YOUR results.

Oh thats right... we can no longer BELIEVE you because you
have proven to us you are willing to OUTRIGHT LIE about the facts.

In any case.... even if it WAS on the NRA website, what
would that prove? A big fat NADA.

Wouldn't you EXPECT pro gun organizations to carry
books by unbiased third parties which statistically
support their position? Of COURSE you would.

Now go away fabricator, liar, and intellectual dishonest one.

    picknclick,

IMHO, Heston appears to be not only insensitive, but something of a racist. When asked why the US had more gun deaths than any other country in the world, he said there was a lot of "ethnicity."

As far as being insensitive, he was asked if he knew that there had been a gun death of a young girl when they came to do their rallie. He said he did not know. Moore then asked him if he would have gone had he known, and he said that he did not know!

Finally, Moore gave Heston a chance to apologize for going. Heston truly showed the pride and rigthesnous that is his by being insulted by the meere asking of the question.

I do not know whether "normal" people should be allowed to own guns or not, but I do know that not once in my life have I felt threatened in such a way that I thought I would need one, particularly to defend myself in my own home.

Even if I did, I would just get a pitbull or a bullmastiff - that will make you think twice about entering a home.

    Siwash,

What I have always found halarious about these people that think a hand gun will make them safer is that when someone is out to do you real harm, it isn't like they say, ok, let's take 15 paces and then aim and shoot. They pull out a gun and kill you, usually in a rage.

I for one would never fire upon anyone unless fired upon, so I do not know what good it would do me.

    Nolan,

I know what you are saying. But hey, look at even the small "community" that is EliteTrader. I have been "accused" of many things here. It is simply the way people are, so I take is a given that there are some people that will falsely accuse me of being a communist, or whatever.

You must follow the truth wherever it leads you...

    Surf,

What I find somewhat funny and somewhat dishartening is that this "experiment" has already been run in this country about 200 years ago in the west where "everyone" carried a visible hand gun.

You would think that the lessons of those days have been learned. Maybe there just weren't enough historians around to take note.

    Yes,

I agree that Moore does not act as an impartial witness. But nontheless, there is a ring to all the questions that get asked that don't really get answered in a satisfactory way.

For example, when he asks the producer of "Cops" how come the show is predominantly about blacks or hispanics comitting crimes, and how come he doesn't do a show on white collar crime, the man responds that it simply is not interesting television.

He goes on to say that these guys that steal a purse with $85 get sent to prison and get chased down by armed police, often ending in a tragedy [people like that! The same reason most people stop traffic for miles behid them when a fender bender happens on the road - they have to stop to see what happened.]

In the meantime, these guys that steal $85 MILLION DOLLARS AND DEVISTATE THOUSAND OF LIVES get sent to a country club that passes for a jail.

People die from being born too. Maybe we should just not be born at all! Then we would have zero mortality rate.

I don't even respond to these "arguments" anymore. I am glad that you do though...
