Damn .. there it is yet again .. seeing the idiot's defense of people choosing to not learn the language of our country. I guess by not learning the language they will be relegated to jobs as landscapers or dishwashers. Anyone who aspires to succeed in life needs to not only master the basics, such as language, but excel in the classroom. You're not going to get a professional job running around say uno, dos, tres, quatro etc. That won't get you far in life in the US. Wonder what's next? Maybe 2 teachers per classroom; one teaching in English and the other in Spanish. Hope the principal sues the crap out of the school district. Why should English speaking kids be held back due to those who don't speak English? It's no wonder the US continues to decline in academic achievement internationally.
How do I feel about legal immigrants watching the current evolution of politics regarding illegals? If they want to watch, that's okay by me. If they don't, that's also okay by me. If you're asking how I feel about illegal immigrants themselves, that's okay by me as well. The task is to process them, not to slam the door in their faces. If Congress won't appropriate the money, that's not the immigrants' fault.
As I said to DB, it's going to get a lot worse. It's not just about language. I'm all for legal immigration, just to be clear. LEGAL. Legal immigration has never been a threat to American culture. Illegal is.
Ask the idiot if Texas is still a part of Mexico? If so, then it's fine to speak Spanish. But my elementary school education taught me Texas was a part of the US. Did we have this language problems 20 - 30 years ago? Nope. But then again Odumbo wasn't in office. Now he allows anyone who wants to walk into the US to do so.
Seems that the saint has no idea what ESL is all about, which is no surprise since he most likely got his education at the Barrier Island Community College. "Our" country. Good grief. Is there anyone you're NOT prejudiced against?
So equality be damned, regarding those who followed the rule of law, right? Even if they've waited years or decades for their turn.
Actually we had this "challenge" much more than 20-30 years ago. But those who were forward-thinking instead of encased in their prejudices began to develop vibrant systems of bilingual education. But you wouldn't know anything about that.
I'm totally for LEGAL immigration also. My ancestors came here through Ellis Island. They didn't barge in the US and instantly demand crap. And protest as if it is they who are being persecuted. The are breaking the law .. what's so hard to understand? And they are stealing from taxpayers with all the benefits they get. Somehow, I think if I walked into a bank and stole some $$$ I'd be arrested, have a trial and likely be found guilty. But hey Odumbo wants to reward the illegals by granting them a path to citizenship. Sorry, but they all need to go and get in line and do it the right way.
The illegals are waiting as well. And as long as Congress refuses to fund their processing, they'll continue to wait. When they're processed, they'll no longer be illegal.
