I am not sure of your point.

Are you saying if you preach it, you can still be credible even if you do the opposite.

for instance you think Pelosi should be able to raise minimum wage for everyone but people employed in her own businesses. (simplification)

You think a basketball coach should tell his players to show respect as he belittles the press.

  3. Yes. Only in evangelical circles you have to live what you preach. This is a carry-over from pre-enlightenment era. In a true capitalist world this doesn't have to be the case.

For example, if you believe that there should be a tax for tofu, you can run as a candidate for tofu tax. But as long as this tax is not levied on everyone, you should not be asked to pay a tofu tax everytime you order tofu in a Chinese restaurant...

Bonehead Bono asks a public institution for money, when the very same institution (in principle) asks to pay his fair share (for support) he refuses. It follows logically he is a pretentious asshole. If you do not see simple logic here go take a logic class.

I have respect for Jimmi Page who does charity work for homeless kids in SA. Yet you do not hear about it. Music-wise Bonehead doesn't even come close.

Acronym I don't know what the fuck you are talking about but I blame my English. I do not care about Catholics, never have cared about the Church.

Do not waste time responding I am signing off this BS.

    Of course

If it were only in evangelical circles why would being a hypocrite be such a negativie.

Why do many people get ticked off when guys like soros, buffet and gates start preaching for more socialist policies after they made their billions by taking advantage of free markets.

  9. If you seriously want to understand the philosophy of American capitalism, read Ayn Rand and her objectivism philosophy.

The objectivist morality is that of an enlightened self-interest, or "rational selfishness." The objectivist politics is one based on individual rights and capitalism.

BTW, Ayn Rand may be considered one of the forerunners of American conservatism. Alan Greenspan was one of her followers.

Hogwash! Ayn Rand is not the definitive source of wisdom on capitalism. You can use your freedom to help and serve others, or to get from them what you want for yourself. That's the problem with socialists. They think that if people are free, that equates with selfish, when it is socialists who are the most selfish people on earth. Take a look at who the democrats run for president. Gore, Kerry, people who have been shown to give VIRTUALLY NOTHING to charity, but THINK they are charitable for voting to take money from someone else and hand it out. If they think charity is something to be given from someone else's pocket, that is not charity at all, and this is the kind of person the democrats consistently nominate for president.
