Bono's BS

  1. I don't understand this. What do values have to do with a card game?

I have no problem with poker

but lets see if you could figure why I voiced my objection about the author writing about virtues while playing poker in casinos and racking up serious losses. .

    from dictionary.com
    vir·tu·ous

    –adjective
    1. conforming to moral and ethical principles; morally excellent; upright: Lead a virtuous life.
    2. chaste: a virtuous young person.

  3. You've changed your story. Now he's suffering serious losses. Before he was just 'playing poker'. You correlated 'playing poker' with a lack of virtue. Now, when questioned, it has morphed into 'taking serious losses at poker', which even in itself is not indicative of lack of virtue if you are not losing money you can't afford to lose, i.e. money you should be using to feed your children.

There's nothing immoral about poker losses per se, jem. Sorry to tell you this. Only an arbitrary (read: faith based) view would require that poker losses indicate lack of virtue.

This doesn't help the credibility issue, jem. After what happened in the ID thread, I would have thought you would be a bit more careful...

I have not changed my story you troll. And my statement has nothing to do with my faith you fool.

have you no shame, I crushed you repeatedly on I.D. thread and every other challlenger. I stated leading astrophysicists have said that there evidence of design and I proved it. I produced powerful quotes from Davies, Greensteet and Susskind.

Is this the same message you gave when the conservative preacher in colorado failed to live up to what he preached? You don't need to answer. We know.

  6. Hmmm.

I don't think I minded that the preacher in Colorado was gay, or that his rap didn't match his act...of that what he was preaching was necessarily false, or became false once he was outed...

I thought it was funny that it happened, and even funnier was the way the flock reacted.

Did Bono step down from his job? Did he resign from any charities he is/was involved with?

Did some elders tell Bono that he needed spiritual counseling to help him with his "sickness."

Hilarious to me that people would compare a rock singer with a preacher, but maybe that is how people view rock stars who spend some time advancing causes they support...

You made one salient point about stepping down. When liberals break the law, are exposed as hypocrites, etc., they virtually NEVER step down. Not enough class.

  8. Oh, so this is not really about issues related to Bono, this is about your conservative political agenda...

Figures...better get ready, Rush comes on in less than an hour to tell you what to think this week...

The position you and your "rebuttal" issuer have taken is of course fundamentally illogical, and deeply lacking in common sense.

Very easy to say and leave it at that. Very easy.

  10. lol... hmmm, the record seems to show something different. It's so inconvenient to have the posts accessible through search, isn't it? You and Z must hate it.

In this case, the record shows that you first equated lack of virtue with playing poker, then when questioned, changed your story and said that losing a lot of money playing poker was contrary to virtue. The proof for that is about 5 posts above these. You clearly changed your story in this very thread, just above. Not to far to scroll for anyone who's interested. Search not even required!

I actually wasn't that involved in the ID thread, so when you say you 'crushed me', you must be dreaming of someone else. What actually happened was that you claimed to read a couple of books and were making constant reference to them, then someone found out that you hadn't read them at all and were just searching quotes from the 'net. Then kjkent spoke to Susskind, and confirmed that all the Susskind material you were claiming as support for your theory of ID/Creation was actually nothing of the kind. The author himself told us through kj that you were misinterpreting him (willfully, I believe).

So you're whole argument there, which was based on appeal to authority, crumbled.

Or are you denying that the last 10 pages of that thread have been a discussion of you and the fact that the authority you've been appealing to has disavowed your arguments?

Also, I believe there was some question about your claim that you're a lawyer.

So all in all... not a great few weeks for you. Like I said earlier, maybe a fresh start with a new user ID is in order.
