I went to a seminar the other day by a well known stock index futures trader who claimed he finds trading bonds more boring but more profitable than stock index futures any one else here on elite make the switch who can say that they are having better returns with interest rate futures vs stock index futures? I will be trying out some e mini bonds and notes trades this week I guess , besides my equity trades
Any insights on why he found bond futures more profitable? Smoother moves? Larger moves? Less whipsaws?
i traded the BUND for the first time a couple weeks ago.. it moves pretty steady but slowly.. and you can trade any size you want.. -qwik
IMO, the bonds of 2002 are far more like stock index futures than vice versa...They used to trade "thick", but these days they are just as reactionary and volatile as the index futures...There is plenty of movement and I dont think that it is a slow drawn out process...It used to be that way, but not any longer...
