  3. Folks, I appreciate your concern, but no, life continues on.

Per earlier posts, even though I consider myself young (40ish), I don't think my level of second by second monitoring of the bond market is sustainable over the long term.

I still follow the bond market. I still enjoy success trading the bond market. I don't do it every day for 4 hours at a time. The journal was intended to be a daily collection of my thoughts and ZB trades done in real-time. I found that posting here real-time became too much effort. Posting becomes addictive quickly and eventually distracts one from the matter at hand, which is making money.

Eventually, I may come back with a another based on a weekly format, or formatted the way MoveTimer wrote his.

As an aside I'm working on applying the methods discussed here (WGSR) to stocks. So far it has worked very well for me this year.

  4. I'm back for a short time. This isn't my usual blow by blow post.

Some very brief long term observations, i.e. hours/days.

Parsing a chart of the 30 year yield utilizing the various methods detailed here, in particular WGSR, it appears that we are at a crucial point. From 02 Nov to 12 Nov 2007 we've been establishing a bottom. Will it hold? I'm about to get a continuation sell signal on the daily chart of the 30 year yield which means a continuation buy on the ZB.

Parsing a chart of the ZBZ7 via the above, I see that 114 01 - 114 05 was the ideal long entry on 14 Nov 2007.

    114 17 is solid support.

    WGSR is 114 12.

Disclaimer: These are observations. I have no position.

EDIT: Hourly long entry today would have been at 0129 CST. Anytime within that hour.

  5. John, WELCOME BACK!! Your previous post mentioned applying your principals to stocks. I am intrigued! When will you be sharing more with us?

  6. FYI, when I was composing the above post the ZBZ7 was trading between 114 17 and 114 20. It was somewhere around there when I posted.

We are up at 115 17 after hours. Not bad. That is the beauty of the WGSR, it allows you to get in when price really looks extended. The WGSR tells you price isn't really extended.

  7. Thanks!

I have a short list of 60 - 100 stocks I follow. Perhaps just some observations on key ETF's would be in order as a supplement.

In any event, I won't be posting day trades anymore. I've done what I set out to do in the journal regarding day trades. I'll confine myself at most to a daily observation

  8. John,

have you generalized WGSR to the daily scale?

  9. MoveTimer,

Great to hear from you! The short answer is yes. The long answer is that I'm still observing. I use a combination of hourly and daily observations at this time with the hourly superseding the daily.

I've placed the precise cycle time calculations that I was doing off of the 3 - 5 minute bar on stand-by as I no longer trade the shorter time frames. I'm more concerned about support and resistance based on WGSR as well as long term weekly/monthly pivots.

  10. 16 November 2007

Not much to add regarding the bonds. We remain in a sell on the 30 year yield and have broken significant cycle peak to trough support on my daily chart.

Of course the above means that we remain in a buy on the ZBZ7, however use discretion on managing the trade. No entries today as you should be long from yesterday at worst and from the day before at best.

    No targets.

My posts may be sporadic so don't wait for an exit signal.
