This confirms what I posted in 92: Treasuries Dipping Into The Afternoon: The bonds shedding some positive momentum now as today modest bounce off lows fizzles & fades away. The 10-yr yield is up at 4.769% near session highs of 4.775%. The buck is weaker at 1.2733 to the euro & 117.5050 yen. The dollar index is down at 85.59 (-0.28) though off its lowest point of 85.47. The markets will spend the afternoon looking ahead to tomorrow's CPI with few catalysts now to stir things up.
That was a nice little sell off! Covered the balance of my short 110 '18. Looking to re sell on any spike on tommorow's number.
110 12 posted as a target just prior to the 0730 report. 110 14 is close enough. Shame I couldn't take advantage of it as the move was so late in the early morning for me. To be honest, had I known, I would have stayed up and paid the price at work. Selling at the 1305 CST 5 min bar....now that is definitely a 10 lot trade.
Lovely trade Surdo! My only issue (just me) is having to wait the whole day for it to go your way. I haven't read everything posted since I left. Is this the trade you started between 0745 and 0800 CST? If so, you are the man in my book. I wish I had the will power to do that.
BlueHorseshoe, OK, I'll bite. A kiss below 107 000 followed by a close right on 107 000 is close enough for me. Good call. Now, how did you do it?
FWIW, the NN system went down at the 1000 5 min bar and never came back up for the rest of the day, i.e. major sell and major divergence. I exited at 0949 (see post) in anticipation of the above as well as the price action I mentioned. If you haven't been following the journal and are wondering why I didn't immediately go short the answer is in the dialogue after my 0949 post as well as my after action analysis above. Anyone would have come to the same conclusion. Friday is the big day.
by the way, guys, great thread: I appreciate your contributions John - good stuff -- just discovered it recently and i have a feeling I am going to learn a lot.
