Bond rally nearing an end?

  1. Not exactly. Those are internal signals -- internal to a market -- that are similar to pivots. By sentiment, I usualy refer to a bias revealed by the combined action of all financial markets.

  3. Yup, expect BSB to be market-friendly. Looks like we have a new version of the greenspan put...

  4. Bernanke has to set up his own agenda. It's now his FED.

Thus far all he has done is 'cut and paste' Greenspans last statement. It's time for him to make a statement of his own about his FED. And, not through Maria ;)

We were very dead yesterday, although seems like someone at Goldman is short and continues to sit on the offer around 105-08 give or take a few ticks in the 10yr, probably a play ahead of an expected weak 3yr auction. Only thing of notice yesterday in options land was a big NOB options play again. This time selling 17,000 Sep 103-106 strangles in the 10yr versus buying 10,000 Sep 103-108 strangles in the 30yr. This is another steepening play in the NOB, or at least my take on it. Risk arb, any help on the greeks side?

  6. Gold has been like a cheap movie plot lately. Reaches $640, stops, and thinks Is the dollar still falling? Yes. Races to $680. Is the dollar still going down? Yes. Goes to $700...

  8. If there is nothing tomorrow or Thursday to stop the dollar from falling, you bet. $750 with no problem at all.
